The struggle to get into the dream State University has begun. As of February 14, 2023, the National Selection Based on Achievement (Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Prestasi/SNBP) 2023 has opened. As we already know, SNBP is one of the pathways in the National Selection of New Student Admission to State Universities (SNPMB) 2023.

For you who want to take the SNBP route can start registering now. Then, what can be prepared so that you are ready and more confident to register for SNBP 2023 this time? Let’s see the steps below. 

1. Meet the requirements as an SNBP 2023 participant

To become an SNBP participant, of course, several administrative requirements must be met by you. Some of these requirements are :

1. You are a 12th-grade high school or vocational school student in 2023 with superior achievement and academic achievement.
2. Already have a National Student Identification Number (NISN) and are registered in the School and Student Database (Pangkalan Data Sekolah dan Siswa/PDSS).
3. Upload a portfolio for those interested in enrolling in arts and sports study programs.
4. Entering report card grades from semester 1 to semester 5 in PDSS.

2. Make sure you are an eligible student

An eligible student means worthy and qualified to join the SNBP. The ranking of students at school determines whether or not a student is eligible. Later, the school will provide the students’ average scores in all subjects from semester 1 to semester 5. Apart from the average score, other points, such as academic achievements, can also contribute to the ranking of the school’s students who have similar scores.

3. Ensure your school is eligible

As a prospective SNBP participant, your grades are not the only thing assessed. Your school of origin (which high/vocational school you graduated from) will also determine whether you can apply for the SNBP 2023. The following are some of the requirements that must be met by schools whose graduates want to apply for the SNBP 2023 pathway.

1. A high school or vocational school with a National School Identification Number
2. School accreditation A: 40% quota of the best in the school, Accreditation B: 25% quota of the best in the school, Accreditation C and others: 5% quota of the best in the school.
3. Filled the School and Student Database and input eligible student data per existing regulations.

4. Your desired study program

Regardless of the major you took in high school or vocational school, be it science, social studies, or linguistics, you are still entitled to choose a study program at a state university per the university’s requirements. You can choose two different study programs from the same or two different state universities. 

Then, if you choose two study programs, one must come from a state university in the same province as the high school or vocational school where you graduated. However, if you only choose one study program,  you can choose a state university in all provinces in Indonesia.

5. Build the best portfolio

Not all programs require you to submit a portfolio. However, if you choose an arts and sports study program, ensure you submit your best portfolio. On the official website of the National Selection of New Student Admission, it is mentioned that there are 11 types of portfolios. They are sports; fine arts, design, and crafts; dance; theater; music; Drama, Dance, and Music (Seni Drama, Tari, dan Musik/sendratasik); musical arts; ethnomusicology; photography; film and television; and puppetry.

6. Don’t miss the application end date

Maybe, you’re already an eligible student, you’ve got a great portfolio, and your school has registered and allowed you to be one of the SNBP participants. However, because you are late submitting all the required data, your chances of qualifying for SNBP are zero. To avoid this, ensure you have fulfilled all the requirements by February 28, 2023, at 15.00 WIB.

If all of the above has been fulfilled, then there is only one thing you can do before seeing the announcement of the results on March 28, 2023, namely praying. Whatever results you get later, believe you have fought hard and tried your best! 

In addition, if you fail, you can still try to follow other SPNMB 2023 pathways. You can also enroll in an “A” accredited private university such as Multimedia Nusantara University, which has many study programs that are no less good and superior.
