Tangerang – The New Student Orientation (Orientasi Mahasiswa Baru/OMB) of Multimedia Nusantara University (UMN) held a Briefing Day, also called Pollination Day (Hari Penyerbukan), on Monday (15/08/2022). This activity is also the starting point for prospective students to finally enter university life. More than 2,500 participants attended the Briefing day online via Zoom.
Even though it was held online, the Briefing Day was opened with a warm welcome from the highly enthusiastic Darana (Events) division, channelling enthusiasm for prospective new students from all over the archipelago. The activity was continued with an introductory session between the Tiksna/Person in Charge (PIC) division and the participants, followed by thorough instructions on the assignments.
The opening of the Tiksna division session on Google Meet was filled with liveliness from the participants. Moreover, this is the first meeting between the Tiksna division and their groups. Both parties exchange greetings and enthusiasm.
“We have made long preparations with various challenges. I feel relieved and very impressed because I was able to meet the participants for the first time even though it was virtually,” Irene Zantha, one of the representatives from the Tiksna division, said.
Furthermore, the Tiksna division also invited the participants to be dynamic by working together in solving group names and carrying out social actions by instructing participants to bring several equipment: bags, books, stationery, and so on, which will be collected on Expansion Day 2 (Pemekaran Hari 2) to be distributed.

“We made the entire assignment process based on values that we believe benefit our fellow participants. Starting from the value of struggle, we hope that our fellow participants can dedicate their efforts to create creations in the form of achievements. Not to forget, there is also the 5C values by Kompas Gramedia in every other assignment,” Reynaldy Michael Yacob, the Coordinator for Darana Division.
In addition to the Darana and Tiksna divisions, the Pragiwaka (Security) division also presented by reading the rules for the OMB UMN 2022 Participants. Furthermore, considering that Day 1 of the OMB UMN 2022 Expansion Day will be held offline, the Sagraha (Medical) division appealed for participants to foster concern for themselves and others in maintaining stamina, including complying with any applicable health protocols.

“I feel thrilled after participating the Pollination Day. Even now, I’m still getting the adrenaline rush because the activities are fun. My message to all my fellow new students, I hope we can all be friends and continue to be enthusiastic about participating in the OMB UMN 2022,” Martin, one of the OMB UMN 2022 participants, concluded.
