UMN’s Annual Technology Festival is Back! Let’s Look at the Fun of UTF 2024!

Tangerang, March 1, 2024 – The Hall B of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) was decorated with technology exhibitions. This event is part of the UMN Tech Festival (UTF) series, which UMN is holding again. This exhibition is the answer to students’ interest in technological developments. UTF itself is organized under the auspices of the Informatics Student Association (Himpunan Mahasiswa Informatika/HMIF) of UMN.

Currently, the technology industry is experiencing rapid growth. The advancement of technology, with all its sophistication, is able to invite admiration from various circles. This is especially felt by those who have an interest in technology. 

After an absence of about 2 years, a technology festival is back at UMN for the first time. The UTF festival answers the longing of students, especially those interested in technology, to channel their interests and talents again. 

Reported through its social media, UTF is an event that focuses on technology and emphasizes the importance of collaboration between individuals, companies, and communities in the world of technology. At this festival, attendees can learn about the latest innovations, participate in discussions, and expand their network with stakeholders in the tech industry.

“Our mission in organizing UTF is to create a friendly environment for technology development in UMN,” said Jefer Setiawan, the Chief Executive of UTF 2024. He also said that initially, this festival aimed to reorganize HMIF’s previously implemented work program, “Building Informatics’ Competitive Soul (BIOS).”

UTF offers a variety of exciting activities for participants. There are three main events in this festival, namely hackathon, exhibition, and workshop, which can enrich participants’ experience in the world of technology. 

The Hackathon is a team competition where participants are asked to think creatively to solve a case by creating an innovative application. This competition is open to UMN internal and external participants. With the tagline “Unleashing Tech Trought Collaboration,” this competition challenges participants to collaborate well to become the winner.

There is also an exhibition that lasts for five days in Building B, where visitors can see and exchange knowledge about many interesting things.

“In the UTF 2024 exhibition, several associations were present. There are Himars, GDC, and Himfera. Most of them display their work,” Jefer said.

Furthermore, this event also presents educational workshops that deepen understanding of the latest developments in the world of technology. The workshops were held on different days, each with an exciting topic. Starting from IYKARA, which discussed Komunidata on February 28, to BCA Dev, which provided tips and tricks in software development on February 29, and Apple Dev Academy on March 1, which will introduce the world of developing to participants. 

“We are quite satisfied to see the participants and visitors to the event are quite crowded. In the future, there will be improvements to increase this enthusiasm,” he continued.

As the chief executive, Jefer appreciated the committee that had worked hard for this event.  He said UTF could be held well thanks to the committee’s sacrifice of time and energy.

Jefer also said he has many hopes for implementing this UTF 2024 event. He hopes that in the future, this event will run consistently every year and continue to grow bigger. In addition, he also hopes that UTF can become a prestigious inter-university event even at the international level.
