UMN Management Students Visits Mandiri Museum and The Indonesia Stock Exchange

TANGERANG – UMN Management students visited the Bank Mandiri Museum and the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from Tuesday, May 9, 2023, to Thursday, May 11, 2023. 

Management students taking the Bank and Other Financial Institutions (EM200) course conducted outdoor learning activities by visiting the Bank Mandiri Museum and the Indonesia Stock Exchange. 

Cynthia Sari Dewi, one of the lecturers of the Bank and Other Financial Institutions (EM200) course, revealed that the visit, which was carried out for three days, was carried out to introduce the history of the economy and financial institutions to students firsthand. 

“Yes, the reason we chose to visit the Bank Mandiri Museum is so that students know the history of banking in Indonesia, one of which is Bank Mandiri, which has a history in developing the Indonesian economy. While the visit to the Indonesia Stock Exchange is to introduce students to the role of the capital market in the Indonesian economy. Besides, UMN also has an investment gallery that collaborates with the IDX,” Cynthia said. 

Cynthia also added that this outdoor learning experience has previously been conducted. Last semester, students visited the Bank Indonesia Museum. 

Cafrizky Rizaldy, a student who became the committee and a participant in the visit to the Bank Mandiri Museum and the IDX, also expressed his opinion about this activity. Cafrizky revealed that this activity was a new experience for him and other students. 

“It’s really exciting for sure, being able to see the history of the bank and getting hands on experience about stocks too.”

Cynthia hopes this visitation activity will teach students more about banking and the Indonesian Stock Exchange.
