The development of technology and innovation in the field of multimedia is followed by an increase in enthusiasts and providers of multimedia majors, especially in many vocational schools in Indonesia. Vocational High School graduates are ready to contribute to their related industries to implement their knowledge and expertise. However, there are also not a few Vocational graduates majoring in multimedia who intend to continue their education and enter college.
There are several considerations for continuing to higher education, one of which is expanding future career prospects and, of course, expanding and sharpening the knowledge possessed in the multimedia field. Quoting Quipper Campus, multimedia is divided into two types, namely linear and interactive. Linear multimedia is multimedia that runs without a user-operated controller, for example, films and television. Meanwhile, interactive multimedia is running and can be controlled by the user using a controller, for example, a video game.
In addition, multimedia is categorized into multimedia communication and content production. The communication category focuses on the publication of information. You will learn from design, development, and computer-based systems in this department. Specifically, you will be equipped with software and programming knowledge, including cloud, Network and Security, and Hardware. This knowledge and expertise are very much needed in the Industry 4.0 era, which is still growing in Indonesia.

This course is perfect for those of you who have good skills in math and logic. Visual Communication Design (VCD)

In the past few years, VCD has become one of the most popular majors in Indonesia. In fact, almost every campus that provides this department has a very large number of students compared to other majors. This department studies the application of art and design to communicate and deliver messages visually. Those who study in this department will later design communication through visuals in various media which are the solutions to every existing problem. This major is synonymous with creativity and innovation in art and design.
For those with talents and interests in art and design, it would be a pity if this major is not your main choice to continue your higher-level studies. The career prospects of this department are also very broad because the rapid development of the era also massively opens up new types of jobs that need people who are experts in innovation and design. Some examples are Creative Director, Game Designer, Cinematic Director, User Interface (UI) Designer, Multimedia Designer, Concept Artist, Animator, Creative Brand Visual & Consultant, Illustrator, Comic Artist, and many others. Film & Animation
In this department, you will learn theoretical to technical things about film and animation, from story-making, camera use, image preparation and editing to other skills in the field of film and animation. In addition, you will also learn how to market the results of film or animation productions that have been produced so that they can be consumed and get a place in the hearts of consumers.

Similar to the Visual Communications Department, this department is suitable for those of you who have talent and interest in the art of design and fine arts, only here you will deal more with moving images, aka visual-audio (video), including utilizing the latest computer equipment. The career prospects of graduates of this department are very broad, such as Film Director, Screenwriter, Art Director, Production Designer, Sound Engineer, Animation Director, Animation Producer, Motion Graphic Artist, Visual Effect Artist, Character Designer & Modeller, and many others.
