Prospective students who intend to participate in the 2023 National Selection of New Student Admissions (Seleksi Nasional Penerimaan Mahasiswa Baru/SNPMB) should understand the changes in the scheme and requirements for SNPMB 2023 participants.

SNPMB, or National Selection for New Student Admission, is a selection system to select prospective students who will continue their studies at State Universities in Indonesia.

SNPMB has three selection channels: Achievement-Based National Selection (Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Prestasi/SNBP) as a substitute for SNMPTN, Test-Based National Selection (Seleksi Nasional Berbasis Tes/SNBP) as a substitute for SBMPTN, and Independent Selection (Seleksi Mandiri).

Requirements for SNPMB 2023 Participants

According to the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation (Permendikbud) Number 48 of 2022, the following are the requirements for each of the SNBP, SNBT, and Independent Selection pathways:

1. Final year students in secondary education who will graduate this year.
2. Have good and consistent academic and/or non-academic achievements.
3. Included in the best ranking quota at school determined based on school accreditation.
4. Have an original diploma or graduation certificate from secondary education.
5. Meet other requirements determined by each state university.

Note: Secondary education graduates no later than the last three years (SNBT).

Ensure the required documents are available to ensure a smooth registration process for the National Selection of New Student Admission (SNPMB) 2023. The required documents are divided into two parts and must be known by high school or vocational school students.

First, for students who take the National Selection Based on Achievement (SNBP) pathway or what was formerly known as the National Selection for State Universities (SNMPTN), they must prepare a proof of academic achievement such as report cards.

Second, for students who take the Computer-Based Written Examination-National Selection-Based Test (Ujian Tulis Berbasis Komputer-Seleksi Nasional Berdasarkan Tes/UTBK-SNBT) pathway or formerly known as the Joint Selection for State Universities (Seleksi Bersama Masuk Perguruan Tinggi Negeri/SBMPTN), they must prepare documents such as diplomas and Grade 12 High School or equivalent Student Certificates.

The SNPMB 2023 account creation process starts on January 9 – February 9, 2023, for schools, while the SNPMB SNBP account creation for high school and vocational school students who meet the eligibility criteria is carried out on January 16 – February 15, 2023.

As for students taking UTBK-SNBT, the account creation process will occur from February 16 – March 3, 2023.

Things to Prepare for Registering an SNPMB 2023 Account

Based on official information from the Education Tester Management Center, the following are the requirements and documents that schools and students must prepare to register for an SNPMB 2023 account:

Documents for Students Participating in SNPMB 2023

1. Registered with NISN and PDSS
2. Have a National Identification Number
3. Have report cards from semesters 1-5
4. The latest High School or equivalent Grade 12 Student Certificate issued by the school, equipped with a color photo, school seal/stamp, and signature of the Principal.
5. Have a diploma for students who graduated from High School or equivalent in 2021 and 2022.
6. Have a portfolio for students who choose arts and sports study programs.
7. Students who are visually impaired are required to have a Statement of Blindness.

How to Create an SNPMB 2023 Account

Here are the steps to create an SNPMB 2023 account:

1. Visit the address https://portal-snpmb.bppp.kemdikbud.go.id/ 
2. On the page that appears, click the “Register” button.
3. You will see two options: “Student” and “School.”
4. If you are a student who wants to register, click the “Register” button on the “Student” option.
5. However, if you are a school that wants to register, click the “Register” button located under the “School” option.
6. Fill in the data required by the SNPMB website system.
7. After all the data is filled in, your SNPMB account has been successfully created.
