TANGERANG – The Alumni Family of Multimedia Nusantara University (KAMI UMN) together with Biztatic held a Public Speaking Masterclass with the theme “Be Unique & Attractive in Workspace”. This series of events is held virtually through Zoom which runs from October 19 to November 9, 2021.

In the first session with the topic of speech (19/10/2021), also invited Rinaldo Rusli Master of Ceremony and Wedding Organizer as speakers. Umn’s Public Relations Alumni of Communication Science presented material on How to Improve Your Public Speaking.

According to Rinaldo, public speaking is conveying how to speak in public and how to convey ideas or arguments that have to convince others that the ideas and ideas conveyed can be understood and followed by others.

“No matter how small our actions when speaking in public or talking to opponents talk, all public speaking techniques we can use,” he continued.

Not only majoring in communication science or a job as an announcer, Master of Ceremony (MC), or presenter, jobs in other fields also require public speaking to facilitate their work.

“All jobs require public speaking, for example, majoring in DKV, Management, IT, SI can use public speaking to approach clients. So not only related to numbers, paper, or behind the scenes, but in the real world definitely requires public speaking to speak in public, when there is a project can be used to get clients by conveying ideas, ideas, portfolios convincingly and acceptable to the client, “said Rinaldo.

In the material he delivered, Rinaldo explained, to be a good public speaker must prepare the points we want to convey, know who our audience is, pay attention to body language when speaking, look and dress in accordance with the event, train the sound of intonation and respiratory control, and take care of the voice.

In addition to providing material, Rinaldo invited some participants to practice directly improvizing introducing themselves and delivering the latest news for 30 seconds without filler words.
