Tangerang, (April 21, 2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) hosted a visit from UST Angelicum College, Philippines, as part of efforts to strengthen international collaboration. The visit not only featured discussions on potential collaborations but also involved 23 UST Angelicum students in academic activities and campus experiences at UMN for one day.
“This visit is significant for UMN; it not only strengthens the relationship between UMN and UST Angelicum College but also demonstrates UMN’s commitment to pursuing internationalization. “There are certainly many programs that can be collaborated on in the future, involving UMN students and faculty,” UMN Rector Dr. Andrey Andoko said.
Andrey emphasized that various collaborations have been formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA), covering both academic and non-academic programs involving the academic communities of both institutions. In detail, Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., as Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization, outlined the collaboration between UMN and UST Angelicum College.
“Academically, UMN is open to various collaborations, including faculty exchanges—the most immediate being with UMN’s Faculty of Communication Sciences—international exhibitions, research collaborations among faculty members on major topics such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Sustainability, student exchanges, and student mobility. These collaborations will be implemented in phases and carried out in the near future,” she explained.
For Friska, the similarities in academic programs and internationalization between UMN and UST Angelicum College represent significant potential for fruitful collaboration. Friska herself is not only opening this collaboration to students and faculty members but also to UST Angelicum students. Furthermore, Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F., CSA., as Vice Rector for Student Affairs, also outlined opportunities for collaboration.
“For internationalization activities, we are opening opportunities for collaboration through programs such as Entrepreneurship Week, which has also been implemented by UST Angelicum College. Additionally, there is an upcoming program that can be carried out together, namely a joint competition among international universities that has been undertaken by UMN,” she explained.
Ika hopes that the programs initiated together can be implemented effectively and consistently sustained. For Ika, this collaboration will provide valuable experience for the entire academic community. In response, Prof. Dr. Eunice Mareth Q. Areola, HSG., Vice President for Academic Affairs at UST Angelicum College, also outlined various potential collaborative initiatives.
“This is a valuable opportunity for UST Angelicum College; although the collaboration is progressing gradually, I hope we can participate in various programs offered by UMN, and vice versa, by involving students, undergraduates, and faculty members from UST Angelicum College,” she said.
Eunice also explained how AI and Sustainability have become the main focus of current research and their adoption in learning. These topics can certainly align with each faculty member’s strengths, and in the future, collaboration can gradually be expanded across all study programs at UMN.

The visit also featured a cooking class attended by 23 students from UST Angelicum College, alongside UMN hospitality students. During this activity, the UST Angelicum students had the opportunity to learn about and experience traditional Indonesian cuisine.
“During my one day at UMN, I felt happy and learned many new things, from participating in UMN’s Entrepreneurship Week and a campus tour to the cooking class. For me, this was a new experience, and I also got to taste and make a traditional Indonesian dish, pisang bolen,” said Julian, a student from UST Angelicum College.
For Julian, the hands-on learning experience with university students was a memorable part of his visit to UMN. It wasn’t just about the learning experience; this opportunity was engaging for the students and helped broaden their practical learning.
