Tangerang (03/07/2026) – UMN’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics (Fakultas Teknik dan Informatika/FTI), together with the IEEE Women in Engineering Indonesia Section, organized the Seminar Series 2026, attended by various universities across Indonesia. In addition to opening new perspectives, FTI UMN also had the opportunity to officially establish a collaboration that will be realized through various programs such as seminars, knowledge exchange, joint research, and various other collaboration opportunities in the fields of STEM and technology development.
Women in Engineering is a global organization under IEEE that focuses on encouraging women’s roles in STEM, technology innovation, and the development of solutions that create a positive impact on society.
“This collaboration with UMN represents our spirit, especially for IEEE Women in Engineering. Through this commitment and collaboration, there are various women’s perspectives worth understanding—whether women as leaders, psychological readiness, and how we continue to learn and grow together,” Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, M.M., M.Sc., as IEEE Advisor, said.
For Riri, this collaboration is not solely about gender equality. More than that, this collaboration serves as proof that women have great potential to continue developing in various fields. She hopes that this collaboration can bring various new learnings while fostering competence, confidence, and awareness.
“I am delighted that FTI UMN has been trusted to collaborate with the IEEE Women in Engineering Indonesia Section. There are many new things to explore together, including how women take on important roles in STEM. Through this collaboration, we also hope to face various future changes,” the Dean of FTI UMN, Dr. Eng. Niki Prastomo, S.T., M.Sc, said.
Niki stated that the various collaboration programs to be implemented between FTI UMN and IEEE Women in Engineering Indonesia Section include knowledge exchange through seminars, guest speakers, joint research, and various other collaboration opportunities expected to provide benefits and positive impacts for all parties involved.
This event was also enriched with a seminar titled “Building Resilient Engineers with Strong Mental Well-being,” which featured three speakers from various backgrounds and perspectives.

The first session was presented by Prof. Dr. Ir. Dwiza Riana, as Rector of Nusa Mandiri University, with the theme “Women, Leadership, and Mental Strength.” In this session, Dwiza discussed how women can take on leadership roles in higher education while building mental strength in the era of digital transformation.
The second session was presented by Dr. Agnes Irwanti, as a Supervisory Board Member of LPP TVRI, with the theme “Mental Health in Male-Dominated Workplaces.” Agnes shared perspectives on how women face work environments dominated by men, from the challenges encountered to how women can demonstrate their capacity and competence in the professional world.
The third session was presented by Dr. Yulianti, S.Psi., M.Pd., M.M.Pd., as a lecturer at UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, with the theme “Burnout in Working Life.” In this session, Yulianti discussed how women are often expected to fulfill various roles, both in the family and in the workplace. This condition can increase the risk of burnout, so appropriate strategies are needed to enable women to maintain their mental well-being amidst these various demands.
