Jakarta — Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) took part as a Supporting Partner in the SDGs Center Conference (SCC) 2026, organized by the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Kementerian PPN/Bappenas) together with the Indonesia SDGs Center Network (ISCN) on June 25–26, 2026, in Jakarta. Under the theme “Strengthening the Role of SDGs Centers: Encouraging Local Action for National SDGs Achievement and Global Partnerships,” this conference served as a national consolidation forum bringing together the government, universities, businesses, local governments, and development partners.
UMN’s contribution on the first day of the conference, Thursday (6/25), was also marked by an opening performance from Tracce UMN, the dance club of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, which symbolically opened the SDGs Center Conference 2026 series in front of SDGs Center leaders from across Indonesia and several prominent figures, including the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rachmat Pambudy, M.S.; Acting Head of the National SDGs Secretariat of the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas, Pungkas Bahjuri Ali; and ISCN President for the 2024–2026 period, Bayu Arie Fianto, Ph.D. Tracce UMN’s performance served as an opening that colored the national consolidation forum, bringing together the government, universities, businesses, local governments, and development partners.

During the first way, it was announced that Indonesia now has 100 SDGs Centers across various universities, marking rapid development since ISCN was established in 2024. Acting Head of the National SDGs Secretariat of the Ministry of PPN/Bappenas, Pungkas Bahjuri Ali, emphasized that this achievement reflects the increasing commitment of universities to the sustainable development agenda while also strengthening the position of campuses as centers of excellence.

Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rachmat Pambudy, M.S., in his opening remarks, emphasized that universities must become Indonesia’s development compass and evolve into living laboratories for sustainable development through relevant curricula, impactful research, and innovations that provide real benefits to society. The first day’s series also featured the handover of Policy Briefs and Best Practices documents from SDGs Centers, a panel discussion titled “Academic Leadership as Centers of Excellence to Accelerate SDGs Achievement,” and an Academic Dialogue on the Beyond-2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
On the second day, Friday (6/26), the conference series continued at Pertamina University with the ISCN internal agenda. One of the important moments that day was the Panel Discussion session themed “From Campus to Community Impact: Evidence-Based SDGs Implementation,” moderated by Maria Advenita Gita Elmada from UMN. This panel featured speakers from the University of North Sumatra, Telkom University, and Pattimura University, exploring challenges in program sustainability, internal campus legitimacy, long-term funding, and the real impact of programs on communities.

UMN’s role in moderating this strategic discussion reaffirmed UMN’s position as one of the universities actively building a sustainability knowledge network among campuses in Indonesia, in line with UMN’s commitment through the Center for Sustainability (CfS) to encourage SDG integration into governance, curriculum, and community service.
The second day of the conference concluded with the ISCN National Meeting (Munas), the organization’s highest forum, which appointed Prof. Dr. Zuzy Anna, M.Si., Director of the SDGs Center at Padjadjaran University, as the new ISCN President for the next period, succeeding Bayu Arie Fianto, Ph.D.
In his accountability report, Bayu Arie Fianto stated that the 2024–2026 period was an important phase in building ISCN’s foundation, ranging from obtaining official legal entity status, membership growth from 51 to 100 institutions, organizing more than 15 webinars with over 2,000 participants, to forging four international memoranda of understanding and one strategic collaboration with UNESCO.

The election of Prof. Zuzy Anna marks a new consolidation phase for ISCN as a sustainability knowledge network that is expected to become increasingly solid, collaborative, and impactful for Indonesia.

Through its involvement as a Supporting Partner and the active role of the Center for Sustainability, UMN reaffirms its commitment to continuing to contribute to the national SDGs Center network, strengthening cross-university collaboration, and supporting the sustainable development agenda toward Indonesia Emas 2045.
