UMN Campus Becomes a Living Lab; 134 ITERA Students Learn About Green Campus Implementation

Tangerang (September 10, 2026) – The Architecture Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) hosted a field visit by 134 architecture students from the Sumatra Institute of Technology (ITERA) in Lampung. This visit was part of the ITERA students’ field studies and served to introduce the UMN Campus, which is not merely a collection of buildings but also functions as a living lab for learning.

During the visit, the students received a brief presentation on the UMN campus, covering not only its visual aspects but also its management and sustainability practices—ranging from electricity and water usage to proper waste management and various sustainability programs that support UMN’s “green campus” concept.

In addition to the presentation, the students also toured the buildings and facilities available on the UMN campus alongside the UMN Architecture Student Association and the UMN Building Management team.

“This visit was my first time visiting the UMN Campus in person. I was quite impressed by the buildings because they already look iconic from the outside. As ITERA students—especially those in the Architecture program—we can learn a lot, particularly regarding green buildings and sustainability values,” said Galih Septa Ramadhan, one of the ITERA students who participated in the visit to the UMN Campus.

Galih shared a bit about his experience touring the UMN Campus, starting from Buildings A and B, Building C (New Media Tower), Building D (P.K. Ojong – Jakob Oetama Tower), all the way to the utility building. In his view, sustainability practices and facilities at UMN have been well-implemented—from electricity and water distribution to waste management.

The students were also introduced to UMN’s Professional Architecture Program (Program Profesi Arsitektur/PPAr) as one of the professional education options available after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. Through this opportunity, students were able to gain a closer look at UMN’s PPAr curriculum, which focuses on green buildings and the application of multidisciplinary BIM.
