Jakarta, (23/10/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) held a Master’s Open House to introduce its study programs and give prospective students a firsthand look at what studying there is like.
During the event, prospective students could get to know UMN’s three master’s programs better: the Master of Communication Studies (MIK), the Master of Technology Management (MMT), and the Master of Design (MDS).
Participants also heard presentations directly from each head of study program: Dr. Ignatius Haryanto Djoewanto, M.Hum., Head of the MIK Study Program; Dr. Djohan Gunawan Hasan, S.Kom., M.M., Head of the MMT Study Program; and Dr. Anne Nurfarina, S.Sn., M.Sn., Head of the MDS Study Program.
Beyond the presentations, prospective students had the chance to speak with each study program head and ask questions about the curriculum, learning focus, and career development opportunities after completing the degree.
The event also included a mini-class experience, giving prospective students a chance to experience each study program’s learning atmosphere firsthand. Through this experience, participants are expected to leave with a clearer picture of the teaching methods and how well each program fits their interests and needs.

That experience also helps prospective students weigh up their options. One of them is Jati Windari, a prospective MIK student and Bank Mandiri Branch Manager, who left the Open House feeling more certain about studying at UMN.
“After taking part in the open house and the mini-class, I’m more certain and confident about continuing my studies at MIK UMN. That’s because the teaching staff are well qualified and bring good insight, and also because of the strong hybrid learning system, which matters since I’m working too. It means I can balance my time between work, family, and classes,” Jati said.
Looking ahead, Jati hopes to gain new insight and to apply what she learns in her personal life, her family life, and her work. She also hopes the knowledge she gains can help her have a positive impact on those around her.
Adrian Dimas Yodiansah, a prospective MMT student and the Human Resources Manager at PT ILJIN Indonesia, said much the same. His experience as a UMN alumnus is one reason he is returning to continue his studies there.
“My reason for choosing to continue my studies at MMT UMN is that I already have a good deal of confidence in the quality of learning at UMN, since I studied there before. For me, the learning at UMN is always relevant and offers the kind of new insight you need for the future,” Adrian said.
Adrian hopes the master’s degree he is about to undertake will broaden his understanding while also supporting his career development. He also sees the facilities and support from teaching staff as key to the learning process at UMN.
A UMN Master’s Is More Than Just a Degree
The Master’s Open House also gave prospective students a chance to better understand what sets UMN’s master’s programs apart. Sorta Yocevina Putri Rumapea, M.I.Kom., Education Consultant for UMN’s Master’s Programs, explained that these programs can be a good fit for prospective students who want to build their competencies through high-quality academics, an industry-relevant curriculum, and the chance to build a professional network.
“UMN’s master’s programs aren’t only a place to go deeper into theory and chase a degree; they also sharpen students’ abilities. I often see how students from all sorts of different backgrounds get into discussions with lecturers and with one another. Students can exchange insights across industries,” Sorta said.
Sorta added that feeling uncertain about further study is perfectly normal for prospective students. In her view, choosing a master’s program isn’t only about obtaining a degree, but also about weighing the course material, the professional network, and the opportunities that can be developed after graduating.
“We’re open to prospective students who are still unsure or uncertain about choosing a program, whether that’s about the learning itself, class times, or anything else. Prospective students can consult with us directly to get more information and a clearer picture before making their choice,” Sorta said.
