Public Speaking: The Key to Success in the Future

What is the most important ability to succeed? Leadership? Teamwork? Perseverance? Yes, maybe it’s all on our minds. But did we know that communication is the main thing necessary to achieve success?

Septian Handinata, Executive Supervisor of Merry Riana School of Public Speaking said the importance of basic communication skills is the main requirement for success. In a mini seminar held at the Function Hall of Multimedia Nusantara University on Wednesday (22/2), Coach Tian gave three basic tips for beginners who want to become public speakers.

The first is prepare. Prepare the material that will be presented in the presentation. Without careful material preparation, it seems unlikely that a presentation made by a public speaker will be interesting, right? In addition to material, of course we also prepare the physical or health of our bodies.  A healthy and fresh body becomes one of the factors participants who attend can be interested in our presentation.

The second is practice. Exercise, exercise, and exercise. That’s what a good public speaker must do to produce a presentation that can excite the participants. Although the material is prepared only once, repeated exercises will produce a stunning appearance. Don’t forget to practice voice intonation, gestures, and use words that are easy for participants to understand.

The material has been prepared, repeated exercises have been done, the last tip to become a good public speaker is to perform. Show the presentations that we have prepared and practiced repeatedly well.
