Tangerang, (07/10/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) is exploring collaboration opportunities with the Embassy of Canada to expand international opportunities for students and lecturers. The proposed collaboration includes student exchange programs, guest lectures, embassy visits, and partnerships with universities in Canada.
UMN continues to strengthen its commitment to becoming a world-class university by expanding its international partnerships. In this time, UMN is exploring collaboration with the Embassy of Canada to open more opportunities for international learning and experiences for the UMN academic community.
“Canada currently offers many study opportunities for international students, including scholarships and student exchange programs. Therefore, we continue to expand our network and explore collaborations with universities in Indonesia. Through this opportunity to collaborate with UMN, I believe many students will be interested in gaining international learning experience in Canada”, stated Julia Pangkey, Trade Commissioner (International Education) at the Embassy of Canada.
Julia further explained that one of the potential areas of collaboration is a student exchange program that would allow students to study abroad for one semester. The program could be open to students from all study programs at UMN. The collaboration is also expected to be reciprocal, giving UMN students the opportunity to study in Canada while welcoming Canadian students to study at UMN.
“We are also open to other forms of collaboration. We hope this partnership will bring positive benefits to both parties. We are ready to support UMN through guest lectures, embassy visits, and opportunities to connect with universities in Canada”, Julia explained.
During the discussion, Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization at UMN, expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to collaborate with the Embassy of Canada. She explained that this initiative would not only help UMN expand its international network but also create opportunities to develop academic programs that directly benefit students and lecturers.
“This is a good opportunity for UMN to develop academic collaborations. There are several programs we can explore together, including student exchange, acceleration programs, and joint-degree programs. These academic collaborations can provide students with valuable learning experiences and opportunities to broaden their horizons”, said Friska.
Friska hopes that this initiative will create more opportunities for UMN students and lecturers to broaden their perspectives and gain international academic experience. Beyond expanding its international network, UMN hopes to turn this initiative into concrete collaborative programs that benefit both parties.
