Integrating Business and Technology Theory: UMN’s MMT Program Visits PT Odoo Software Indonesia

Tangerang, (August 8, 2026) – The academic journey of UMN’s Master of Technology Management (MMT) and Doctor of Technology Management (DMT) students officially began with a new student welcome event and program kick-off. The event was attended by UMN’s Rector, Dr. Andrey Andoko.
“This is a moment of pride—not only are we welcoming new students, but also the first cohort of UMN’s doctoral program. I am confident that these students are not merely pursuing a degree; by joining UMN’s graduate programs, they are driven by a desire to develop their competencies, especially in this era of rapidly advancing Artificial Intelligence (AI),” Andrey explained.
For Andrey, it is crucial for today’s students to stay informed about how technological advancements are transforming human life. Of course, with a commitment to continuous learning, students will not be replaced by technology but will instead be able to leverage it as a tool.
“As humans, we must continually hone our skills and not rely solely on AI to answer every question. We must not lose our human skills—such as critical thinking—and create the illusion of competence, as if we understand everything,” Andrey advised.
Andrey hopes that students will learn new things with the openness of an empty glass ready to be filled with new knowledge. It is also hoped that students will continue to hone their skills and become collaborative and creative individuals.
Meanwhile, Dr. Prio Utomo, S.T., MPC., Dean of the Faculty of Business, also expressed his pride in the start of the academic journey for MMT and DMT students. On the same occasion, Prio explained the various programs students can participate in.
“Of course, students will not only focus on research but also on gaining a deep understanding of theory and its implementation. Both the MMT and DMT programs not only strengthen students’ skills in the professional world but also in technology,” Prio explained.
Prio also noted that students will not only learn in the classroom but will also participate in various programs, ranging from community service and industry visits to lectures by international guest speakers.
“I hope that joining the MMT or DMT programs will not only broaden the students’ horizons but also provide them with new perspectives on both industrial and technological developments, as well as foster positive character development,” he concluded.
