UMN Explores Collaboration with Bank Indonesia, Discussing Research to Career Development

Tangerang, (24/07/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has officially started exploring a partnership with Bank Indonesia (BI). Through a recent discussion between UMN and BI, both sides discussed a range of potential collaboration programs—from research and career development to community service programs and financial/digital literacy initiatives.

As the central bank of the Republic of Indonesia, Bank Indonesia plays a critical role in maintaining the stability of the Rupiah and the national financial system. Through this collaboration, UMN and BI are looking to open up opportunities for synergy that can benefit the academic community as well as the wider public through various programs in education, research, career development, and community service.

“We’re really interested in collaborating with UMN because we see a lot of alignment between their programs and what Bank Indonesia is working on — especially when it comes to economic literacy through MSME (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) development. Beyond that, we’re also open to various other collaboration opportunities — whether in careers, research, or other activities that can make a tangible impact on students and the broader community,” said Sofwan Kurnia, Director and Head of BI’s Banten Provincial Representative Office.

Sofwan also emphasized that one of their current priorities is digital economic literacy. It’s not just a challenge — it’s become a real need in society. He hopes that through this partnership, BI and UMN can work together to educate and reach more people across Indonesia.

“We hope this collaboration between BI and UMN will run smoothly. Ideally, I hope it will involve students, lecturers, and Bank Indonesia employees alike. Ultimately, we want this partnership to help move the economy forward,” he added.

Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN’s Rector, gave the collaboration his full support. For him, this partnership is a great way to implement the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

“Collaborating with industry is part of UMN’s big plan to prepare students for their careers and support the learning process. Beyond that, we hope this collaboration can also support industry and government. I’m hoping we can come up with various joint initiatives that will help support Indonesia’s circular economy,” Andrey explained.

Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., UMN’s Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization, also initiated several programs that could be rolled out together. For Friska, this collaboration is a chance to expand students’ learning experiences while strengthening the relationship between UMN and Bank Indonesia.

“I hope the collaboration between UMN and Bank Indonesia will be active and productive with various programs we can do together, from industry visits for students and guest lectures to other internationalization programs. I’m looking forward to even more collaboration opportunities ahead,” she said.

Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., UMN’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, also welcomed Bank Indonesia’s visit with enthusiasm. For Ika, this collaboration opens up great opportunities for internships and full-time positions for students in the future.

“We have a range of employability programs we can run with Bank Indonesia, from campus hiring and career days to job postings. I’m confident many of our students would be interested in building their careers at Bank Indonesia. Of course, I also hope this collaboration will be strong and sustainable going forward,” Ika concluded.
