UMN Explores Collaboration with Bank Indonesia, Discussing Research to Career Development

Tangerang (28/07/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has officially launched a recruitment partnership with Ibis Gading Serpong. Facilitated by UMN’s Career Development Center (CDC), this collaboration is designed to expand the university’s industry network while opening up more career development opportunities for both current students and alums.
Ibis Gading Serpong is part of the Accor group — a global hospitality giant from France that operates hotel brands all around the world. But here’s the thing: this partnership isn’t just about recruitment. UMN and Ibis Gading Serpong are also leaving the door open for other joint programs that could involve students, faculty, or both.
“Looking at the hospitality industry’s needs, our focus isn’t just on hospitality alone. There are quite a few roles we need across engineering, communication, and design. This collaboration with UMN is strategic — it allows us to complement each other,” said Ananto C. Kusumo, General Manager of Ibis Gading Serpong.
Ananto also expressed openness to other collaborations down the line — whether involving student activities or lecturer programs. The hope is that this partnership will be long-term and sustainable.
Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., UMN’s Vice Rector for Student Affairs, also gave the collaboration a big thumbs-up.
“This is a great opportunity for us, especially since we’re currently focused on expanding our industry partner network. There are plenty of activities we can involve Ibis Gading Serpong in — from career days and campus hiring to curriculum matching and industrial sharing sessions for students,” she explained.
While the collaboration is currently centered on careers and recruitment, Ika made it clear that other joint initiatives could definitely happen in the future. Through this partnership, she hopes to build a strong, lasting relationship between the university and the industry.
“Collaborating with industry is crucial for UMN. We don’t want the knowledge students gain to stop at graduation. We hope that what they’ve learned and experienced can be directly applied in the workplace,” Ika concluded.
