Tangerang, (22/05/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) welcomed 11 architecture students from the University of Udine, Italy, in a short-term mobility program as an initial step in international collaboration between the two institutions. This activity not only provides a learning experience for University of Udine students but also marks the beginning of a collaboration with UMN.
The University of Udine is a university in Udine, Italy, established in 1978. The University of Udine is a well-known European university that actively pursues international programs. This time, UMN has the opportunity to explore and activate various future collaborations together.
“We are very pleased to receive this visit from the University of Udine. This is an initial step toward more collaborations. Going forward, I hope that UMN and the University of Udine can explore more programs that can be collaborated on, both for students and faculty, and of course involving other study programs at UMN,” welcomed Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic and Internationalization Affairs.
Friska also emphasized the initiation of potential collaborative programs, including student exchanges, student mobility, joint research, and joint exhibitions. Through this initiative, Friska is also open to various programs that can be implemented and aligned together.
“For me, this collaborative step is strategic. It is hoped that this will open learning opportunities for Indonesian students who wish to continue their studies in Italy. Of course, this will not only involve architecture students but also other study programs,” said Dr. Roberto Carniel, Scientific Attaché at the Italian Embassy to Indonesia, Timor Leste, and ASEAN in Jakarta, during the discussion.
The University of Udine is the first university to visit UMN following the meeting between UMN, the Italian Embassy to Indonesia, and Uni-Italia. Going forward, Roberto hopes this collaboration will continue and involve additional universities in Italy.
“It’s a pleasure to be able to visit the UMN campus directly and explore collaboration together. We are certainly open to various existing initiatives. For us, this collaboration is important for continuously gaining new knowledge. Regarding the topics at UMN, I am confident they can be aligned with the University of Udine,” Prof. Alberto Cervesato, Research Fellow and Adjunct Professor, Polytechnic Department of Engineering and Architecture, University of Udine, said
Alberto is also open to collaborating on other study programs at UMN. Through this strategic step, Alberto hopes to open student exchange opportunities for UMN students who will be involved in student exchanges or further studies.
