Tangerang, (28/08/2026) – A total of 36 students from India, Cambodia, South Korea, Kazakhstan, and Russia are joining the student exchange program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN). The students will take part in the program for one semester and will be spread across various study programs at UMN.
As part of its internationalization efforts, UMN continues to expand and strengthen its network of partnerships with international universities. Through the student exchange program, UMN not only strengthens its relationships with partner universities, but also provides students with cross-cultural learning experiences and strengthens UMN’s global reputation.
“The student exchange program is one of UMN’s strategic steps to support our vision of becoming a world-class university. Through student exchanges and the presence of students from different countries, it is not only the international students who learn about cross-cultural experiences, but UMN students can also interact, collaborate, and share new perspectives,” said Dr. Andrey Andoko, Rector of UMN.
According to Andrey, exchange students will not only get new academic experiences, but also the chance to experience different cultures, new things, and obviously, make new friends. He hopes the students can make the most of this opportunity and gain new experiences during their exchange program at UMN.
“It is great to welcome the exchange students back to UMN. Obviously, this is a valuable opportunity for UMN to build and implement collaborations with our international university partners. Hopefully, the students can really learn many new things, not only academically, but also about new cultures,” said Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic and Internationalization.
Friska explained that the students will take part in various fun and diverse activities during their exchange program. They will not only study in classes, but also expect to join various programs available at UMN. This was further explained by Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F., CSA., Vice Rector for Student Affairs.
“Of course, international exchange students are encouraged to take part and be active in various activities and programs at UMN, especially since we have quite a lot of Student Activity Units (UKM) and organizations. I believe UMN students will also be happy to have exchange students involved. Their active involvement can also make the learning experience more fun,” said Ika.
Furthermore, Prof. Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Sustainability, also shared her warm welcome and hopes for the student exchange program.
“UMN has its own community development villages, and I hope the exchange students can visit them directly and learn from both the sustainability and cultural perspectives in Indonesia. This is important so that students can really understand how these things are practiced,” said Sari.
Exchange Students Share Their Enthusiasm
For the exchange students, coming to UMN is a new experience where they can get to know the academic environment and culture in Indonesia. Before starting their one-semester program, several students shared their first impressions and excitement about joining the student exchange program at UMN.
“I’m really happy to have the opportunity to join this exchange program, and this is my first experience coming to Indonesia. For me, UMN has quite complete learning facilities and many spaces to study,” said Krassikov Yegor, a student from D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University (EKTU), Kazakhstan, who will join UMN’s Information Systems Study Program.
Krassikov shared that he wants to learn about many new cultures, especially Indonesian culture. For him, learning about different cultures is important because Indonesia is quite far from Kazakhstan and has a different culture from his home country.
“When I first arrived at UMN, I thought the campus was quite big and had many complete facilities, from learning facilities to sports facilities. The UMN students are also friendly and helpful,” said Shemetova Aleksandra, a student from Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts (NSUADA), Russia, who will join UMN’s Visual Communication Design Study Program.
Aleksandra shared that she hopes to learn more about Indonesian culture, including the arts in Indonesia. For her, seeing the different perspectives between Indonesia and Russia makes this an interesting experience to gain new knowledge and a new perspective.
