Tangerang, (05/11/2026) – The Faculty of Art and Design at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (FSD UMN) continues to strengthen its collaboration with Korea University of Media Arts (KUMA) through an academic visit and discussion. The meeting gave both universities an opportunity to explore new ways to develop their existing partnership.
As part of their ongoing partnership, FSD UMN and KUMA held a visit and discussion to explore various academic opportunities. The topics included student exchange programs, visiting professors, and other possible collaborations to keep their partnership active and build a closer relationship between the two universities.
“This was a great opportunity for us to meet again, exchange ideas, and continue improving our existing collaboration, including student exchange programs and visiting professors. We see many similarities between FSD UMN and KUMA, both in our curriculum and learning systems”, said Prof. Semoon Yoo, Dean of the International Office at KUMA.
For Semoon, the partnership between UMN and KUMA is important not just as a formal agreement, but also as a way to build a strong and lasting relationship between universities in Indonesia and Korea.
“We are happy to have built such a close relationship with KUMA. We have carried out many programs together, and the collaboration works both ways. It involves not only lecturers but also students”, said Muhammad Cahya Mulya Daulay, S.Sn., M.Ds., Dean of the Faculty of Art and Design at UMN.
Cahya also expressed his pride in the long-standing partnership between the two universities. He explained that the collaboration has benefited not only lecturers but has also received positive responses from students. This can be seen from the strong interest among both students and lecturers in the programs that have been running, including guest lectures, visiting professors, and student exchange programs.
On the discussion, Edelin Sari Wangsa, S.Ds., M.Sn., Head of the Film Study Program at UMN, also shared a new idea to develop the partnership by extending the student exchange period.
“Since the Film Study Programs at UMN and KUMA have many things in common, we proposed extending the student exchange period from one semester to one year. This idea also came from seeing how enthusiastic our students are about joining the exchange program at KUMA”, she explained.
Edelin hopes that this extended program will not only give UMN students more opportunities but also allow KUMA students to join an exchange program at UMN. Beyond student exchanges, both universities also hope to explore more academic activities, such as visiting professors and joint research.
