Tangerang, (09/06/2026) – UMN’s Career Development Center (CDC) has once again expanded its network of industry partners with the official launch of a collaboration with the Bakrie Center Foundation. This partnership encompasses student development programs, including internships and full-time recruitment, as well as sustainability initiatives that support the development of young talent in Indonesia.
As a strategic step to improve graduate absorption in industry, UMN continues to partner with industries across sectors. This time, UMN has the opportunity to formalize a collaboration with the Bakrie Center Foundation that will involve all four faculties at UMN.
“We are delighted to be able to visit and collaborate with UMN. There are many opportunities and similarities in programs that can be carried out together, ranging from internships to full-time positions for students. Beyond recruitment, we are also open to sustainability initiatives in support of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” Jimmy Muhammad Rifai Gani, Chief Executive Officer of the Bakrie Center Foundation, said.
In response to the collaboration with UMN, Jimmy emphasized that synergy between industry and universities is important for equipping the younger generation with knowledge of the working world. For Jimmy, the program between UMN and the Bakrie Center Foundation could serve as a model for other universities and industries to become more collaborative and productive.
“We are open to providing internship opportunities for students as soon as possible, as well as various collaborations in the field of sustainability. For me, this collaboration is proof of the good efforts of UMN and the Bakrie Center Foundation to continue advancing the younger generation and having an impact on the wider community,” he added.
In response to this discussion, Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F., CSA., as Vice Rector for Student Affairs, expressed positive support and outlined various programs that could be implemented together in the future.
“I am pleased to be able to officiate this collaboration with the Bakrie Center Foundation. This collaboration will later involve all four faculties at UMN. Of course, it is not limited to recruitment collaboration; we see various opportunities that can be pursued together, ranging from guest lectures, campus hiring, career days, scholarship programs, to curriculum matching,” Ika explained.
For Ika, the collaboration between UMN and the Bakrie Center Foundation is a strategic step toward preparing the talent the industry will need in the future. This aligns with UMN’s vision of preparing future-ready graduates.
“I hope the relationship between UMN and the Bakrie Center Foundation can become closer and be well maintained. It is hoped that this collaboration will not be limited to recruitment programs, but that UMN and the Bakrie Center Foundation can provide positive contributions and impacts in the future,” Ika concluded.
Beyond student programs, UMN and the Bakrie Center Foundation also see opportunities for sustainability collaboration to be pursued together. Prof. Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., as Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Sustainability at UMN, also contributed to various collaborative initiatives.
“For me, there are many sustainability program initiatives that can be carried out together, considering that UMN has indeed implemented many of these programs together with industry partners and NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations). Programs that can be implemented in the future are community outreach programs, including both educating the public and developing the villages themselves,” Sari said.
Sari hopes that the collaboration between the Research, Innovation, and Sustainability division and the Bakrie Center Foundation can be established soon and that it will involve UMN lecturers in the future. It is hoped that UMN and the Bakrie Center Foundation can make even broader contributions and have a greater impact on society.
