Prof. Muji is recognized among the World’s Top 2% Scientist 2025 World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University. During the session, Prof. Muji presented the topic “Navigating Academic Careers Through Research Roadmaps.”
“Nowadays, universities are facing the challenge of a rapidly growing flow of information. Looking back, universities may once have served as the primary and more ‘knowledgeable’ centers of information. However, these days, people can access information in real time, making knowledge far more easily distributed,” explained Prof. Muji.
For Prof. Muji, this phenomenon should become an important concern and encourages lecturers to continuously enhance their knowledge in order to remain relevant and contribute meaningfully to society. Beside that, this phenomenon could be an opportunity for a lecturer to create more research, knowing they had the authority to make a research.
“With that, how can we continue pursuing our careers while remaining committed to the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi? The answer is by creating a clear roadmap for our own academic career journey as lecturers. We need to map out our professional development comprehensively, not solely focusing on research and publications,” added Prof. Muji.
Prof. Muji stated, having a clear academic career roadmap is essential, considering that the journey from lecturer to professor requires both time and strong commitment. He also believes thatUMN provides substantial support for the academic career development of its lecturers.
“Looking at our rapid world growth, a piece of advice I can offer to lecturers is to conduct research that is closely connected to industry and societal needs. Through such research, the impact will not only be broader for society, but can also contribute to the development of study programs and curricula within Universitas Multimedia Nusantara,” said Prof. Muji.
