TANGERANG—Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) was one of 30 universities selected as official exhibitors at IPXpose Indonesia 2025. The event, organized by the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, occurred from August 13 to 16, 2025, at the Smesco Convention Center in Jakarta.
For UMN, this participation is an important milestone. “This is the first time UMN has been invited as an official exhibitor alongside 30 other universities,” said UMN Research and Innovation Department Manager Nabila Husna Shabrina, S.T., M.T..
UMN showcased several research products by lecturers and students registered as Intellectual Property (IP). These works cover various categories, from design to systems and applications to media technology.
Some of the innovations on display included “Papan Magnet Taktil” (Tactile Magnetic Board) for teaching animation to the visually impaired by Bharoto Yekti; “Virtual Gramedia Store” based on Virtual Reality by Clemens Felix Setiawan; and Mun’s Landing, a digital game developed in collaboration with the Muniverse Team. There were also system innovations such as “MySalak,” an AIoT-based smart farming system for pest management in salak plantations, and “Utapis,” an Indonesian language error filtering application.
In addition, UMN also presented “Gasing,” a stock literacy game for high school students; “Tutori,” an application to help parents with disabilities create valuable visual assets; and “Espresso Coffee Machine” by Samuel Hutagalung, which can stop automatic extraction based on the weight of the brew.

According to Nabila, UMN’s involvement in IPXpose proves the campus’ commitment to promoting a research culture that produces tangible results. “This participation shows that UMN is committed to continuing to foster a research culture that does not stop at publication but also produces real innovation. IPXpose provides a space to bring innovation together with industry, government, and society, so that UMN’s innovations have a greater chance of being commercialized and having a real impact,” she explained.
Going forward, UMN is also preparing a strategy to increase the number of works by lecturers and students that can be registered with the Indonesian Intellectual Property Office (DJKI). Through the Research and Innovation Division (RISi), UMN will collaborate with DJKI to organize education and mentoring clinics for IP registration.
Furthermore, Nabila emphasized UMN’s role in supporting the Indonesia Emas 2045 vision. “UMN remains committed to optimizing the research and innovation ecosystem with a focus on AI and sustainability, which is expected to have a real impact on society and support the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045,” she said.
