The Master of Communication Science has achieved an impressive feat, earning Superior Accreditation from the Indonesian Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristek Dikti). This achievement demonstrates UMN’s commitment to providing high-quality education with rigorous academic standards, focusing on developing practical skills to thrive in the diverse and dynamic communications industry.
Master of Communication Studies studies combine scientific perspectives and practical perspectives to prepare graduates to explain and solve various kinds of strategic communication problems in the field of marketing communications and corporate communications.
Emphasis is given primarily to the ability to anticipate the disruption caused by the digital transformation that has hit industry and society. From a scientific perspective, this study program is designed to provide a solid understanding of theories, principles, concepts and research methods in the field of strategic communication. This is due to a shift in professional roles that increasingly demand mastery of advanced strategic knowledge rather than just operational skills.

The curriculum emphasizes aspects of digital communication, innovation, management, and culture and has received an “Excellent” Accreditation from BAN-PT. Facilities that support teaching and learning activities which include collaborative learning, a library with adequate literature, a collabo hub laboratory, a multimedia production laboratory, and access to international journals. Collaborations with research institutions, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), government bodies, industries, and Business Incubator Skystar Ventures for entrepreneurship development towards technopreneurship.

Digital Corporate Communication
- The Digital Corporate Communication concentration focuses on communication, corporate affairs, management, business, and digital technology.
- Graduates are adept at addressing corporate communication challenges, such as developing corporate image and identity using omni-channel strategies blending digital and conventional media.
- For example, building a corporate image, corporate identity, and corporate reputation through an omni-channel approach by integrating the use of digital media and conventional media.
Digital Marketing Communication
- The Digital Marketing Communication concentration hones expertise in communication, marketing, management, business, and digital technology.
- Graduates can navigate industry changes, tackle marketing challenges, and ensure customer data privacy through personalized strategies and transparent practices.
- For example, through the preparation and implementation of personalized marketing strategies or ensuring transparency of data usage (data transparency) in marketing to ensure the security of customer private data (consumer data protection).
Student Scolarship
UMN scholarship program is offered to high school students in 12th grade who have academic, sports, and artistic achievements while in 11th grade. In addition, UMN also offers the program to high school/vocational school students who won medals in the National and International Science Olympics. As a form of appreciation for the dedication of teachers and employees/ staff in educating the nation's children, UMN provides scholarships in the form of a 50% reduction in fees for teachers/principals and a 30% reduction in fees for children of the employees/staff in high schools/vocational schools (both public and private) who want to continue their education at UMN.

"Set a Plan, Start Learning and Unlock Your Potential"
Students are required to attend academic guidance meetings at least 3 times per semester. The schedule of the meetings will be provided by the respective academic supervisors. Students have to bring the academic guidance book for the meeting and they need to make sure that the academic supervisor signs it.
Continuing Education Department (CED) is an educational development program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) which is part of the Kompas Gramedia Group. We have various programs in language courses, human development, Testing Centers for national and international certifications, and training programs. UMN’s CED is designed to meet the needs of high school and college students, as well as the public and professionals.
Students are encouraged to find their own companies / agencies for their internships that align with the focus of the Strategic Communication Study Program. Information about available internships can be obtained from other students, social media, job fairs, advertisements in print or electronic media or even through the UMN Career Development Center (CDC).
To complete the Undergraduate Program (S-1) at Multimedia Nusantara University, students must prepare, present, and defend the thesis in front of the thesis examination board, in accordance with the provisions of the study program. The preparation of the thesis is done individually and the students can choose the supervisor directly provided that the selected supervisor agrees.

The Master of Communication Science program at UMN offers a curriculum that balances theoretical foundations with practical skills in strategic communication. It emphasizes key areas such as digital marketing, digital corporate communication, innovation, and technopreneurship. Designed to anticipate the challenges of digital transformation, the curriculum integrates communication theory, research methodology, and applied practices. Courses are structured to build critical thinking, adaptability, and leadership in managing strategic communication across various industries in a global context.
Expected Learning Outcomes by graduates of the Master of Communication Science Studies Program include the following attitudes, values, knowledge, and skills:
- Able to appreciate the diversity of cultures, views, beliefs, and religions (A3).
- Able to appreciate, consider, and implement ethics in strategic communication research and practice (A3, A5).
- Able to internalize and implement the entrepreneurial spirit and leadership in strategic communication practices to improve people’s quality of life (A5).
- Able to evaluate various theories, concepts, and principles in strategic communication (C5).
- Able to produce strategic communication research with an interdisciplinary approach (C6).
- Able to produce communication strategies or programs that align with real problems with an interdisciplinary approach (C6).
- Able to analyze problems, needs, and impacts of digital strategic communication practices (C4).
- Able to make decisions related to solving communication problems and validating them academically (C5).
- Able to produce innovations, works, and programs that are tested and have the potential to be applied in solving strategic communication problems in the business world, government, and community (C6, P4).
- Able to solve and provide recommendations to overcome problems in managerial and leadership aspects in the field of strategic communication in a complex and dynamic environment (C5, P5).
Profiles of graduates from the Master of Communication Science Studies Program after completing their studies are expected to be able to meet the following criteria:

To support the learning process, umn provided a complete and sophisticated college facility, according to industrial standards. Through the existence of the facility, students have been invited to be close to the industrial world since sitting in college and to have competence that matches the needs of the industry. That way, it will make it easier for umn students to find jobs, even before graduation.
Extracurricular Student Activities
In order to help students explore and develop their non-academic potentials, UMN also provides a variety of extra-curricular activities for students which is locally called UKM, Student Activity Unit.
