TANGERANG – On the 29th of April 2025, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) welcomes representatives of Angel Water Solutions (Angel in short) Indonesia to the UMN campus to build a relationship and discuss the potential for collaboration in the future.
“We are delighted to have you here. We’re very concerned about sustainability, so we hope to collaborate with Angel Water Purifier Company. We welcome you to Indonesia, even for this short time. We hope that on the next visit, we can proceed with a MoU or MoA signing,” Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., UMN Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.
Angel was founded in 1987 in Shenzhen, China, and has become a global leader in water purification. They provide cleaner and safer water for residential and commercial users with purification, filtration, and softening capabilities. Angel has 17.000 distribution points and just recently expanded to Indonesia. Representatives of Angel Indonesia shared that Angel Indonesia will officially launch on May 20th.
“We will have an event for the press conference on the launch of Angel Indonesia, and we would like to invite all of you,” said Sudjadi, one of Angel Indonesia’s representatives. He then shared Angel’s company profile, clients, and works.
Led by Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., the UMN Vice-Rector of Student Affairs shared UMN’s profile, achievements, programs, and current goals with Angel Indonesia representatives. She hopes that Angel Indonesia and UMN can collaborate soon in the future.
Ika mentioned several collaboration ideas, such as having practitioners from Angel Indonesia become guest lecturers, Angel Indonesia joining UMN’s sustainable innovation challenge, UMN students interning at Angel Indonesia, and UMN graduates having the chance to work at Angel Indonesia.
“Maybe we can create a program where we create a subject that matches the company’s needs. So, after the UMN students graduate, they can directly work for your company. Angel Indonesia don’t have to spend more time on training as they have been trained at UMN,” Ika said.
In addition, Ika also suggested a collaboration related to water concerns for the surrounding communities. This not only allows them to impact society positively but also increases Angel’s brand awareness.
Responding to UMN’s ideas, Angel Indonesia representative, Steven, shared that they have accepted student interns from partner universities such as Thailand and Singapore.
“If some university students (in Indonesia) want work opportunities, we are open to accepting university students and graduates to join our local company. But honestly, we hope the student can speak English and Chinese, which would be even better,” Steven said.
To conclude the meeting, Dr. Eng. Niki Prastomo, S.T., M.Sc., the Dean of the UMN Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, expressed his interest in a research collaboration.
“We have experts and understand many things in engineering, IoT, AI, etc, even in sustainability. If you need data, for example, on the Indonesian market, you can invite us and collaborate with our lecturers for market research,” Niki said.
“On behalf of China Angel Company, thank you very much for the hospitality,” Steven said.
The visit marked the beginning of a promising partnership between UMN and Angel Indonesia, with shared goals in sustainability, education, and innovation. Both sides expressed strong interest in future collaborations, setting the stage for impactful joint initiatives. We hope to see the collaboration ideas come to life soon!
