The International Office (IO) of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) plays a vital role in strengthening the universityโ€™s global presence through two main divisions: Global Engagement and Global Reputation. The Global Engagement division manages UMNโ€™s international partnerships, which currently include 110 universities across 27 countries, and coordinates programs such as student exchanges, summer programs, visiting professor, guest lecture, research collaboration and international competition. To support student participation, scholarships are available that cover tuition fees and transportation.

Meanwhile, the Global Reputation division oversees UMNโ€™s performance in global rankings. The university holds a 4-star rating from QS Stars, with 5-star ratings in Teaching, Employability, Inclusiveness, and Online Learning. In the QS Asia Rankings, UMN is ranked #474 in Asia, #20 in Indonesia, and is among the top 5 private universities in the country. The university has also participated in the upcoming QS Sustainability Rankings and the THE Impact Rankings. Student Exchange Program

Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) warmly welcomes international students from universities around the world to join one-semester Student Exchange Program at our campus. This program offers an exciting opportunity for students to experience academic life in Indonesia while engaging in a dynamic multicultural environment.

The program is offered twice a year, during the Fall and Spring semesters, with details as follows:

Students may choose the semester that best fits their academic plan at their home university.

Students applying for the exchange program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara must meet the following criteria:

  • Come from a university with an active MoU/MoA with UMN
  • Be a full-time student at their home university
  • Be officially nominated by their home universit
  • Have a minimum CGPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (non-negotiable)
  • Provide proof of English proficiency

Why Join the Student Exchange Program at UMN?

International students participating in this program will receive various academic and cultural benefits, such as but not limited to:

  1. Tuition Fee Waiver. The program is free of charge for students from partner universities, meaning students do not need to pay tuition fees to UMN.
  2. Access to Campus Facilities. Exchange students will have full access to UMNโ€™s academic resources and campus facilities.
  3. Free Airport Pickup. UMN provides complimentary airport pickup for incoming exchange students to ensure a smooth arrival in Indonesia.
  4. Cultural Trips in Jakarta. Students will enjoy two complimentary trips around Jakarta, allowing them to explore Indonesiaโ€™s culture, history, and local lifestyle.
  5. Student Buddy Program. Each exchange student will be paired with Student Buddies, who will assist them in adapting to campus life and the local environment.
  6. Visa Processing Unit. UMN has a dedicated team to guide you through the visa application process. The service is free, but students must cover the visa fees.

These benefits are designed to help students experience both academic excellence and cultural immersion during their semester in Indonesia.

Students are responsible for their own visa, flight tickets, living expenses and health insurance. Estimated required costs:

  • Meals: $100โ€“$200/month

  • Internet: $15/month
  • Laundry: $10/month
  • Total : $295-465/month + $400 visa application fees

Student Mobility Program

At UMN, we believe that international learning goes beyond the classroomโ€”it is about experiencing new cultures, exchanging ideas, and building meaningful global connections.

To support this vision, the UMN International Office offers short-term international programs designed to provide students with immersive academic and cultural experiences in Indonesia. Through workshops, field visits, cultural exchange and collaborative learning activities, participants are expected to gain valuable insights, build international friendships, and develop a broader global perspective. UMN run two Student Mobility programs annually, with details as follows:

UMN Sustainability Immersion Program

Interested in learning how sustainability is practiced in real communities? The UMN Sustainability Immersion Program invites international students to explore sustainability initiatives in Indonesia through a dynamic combination of academic learning, field experience, and cultural exchange. The program runs every July, with the program structure outlined below:

Week 1 โ€“ Online Workshops
In the first week, participants will attend a series of online workshops and introductory sessions. During these sessions, they will broaden their perspectives on sustainability issues from various viewpoints, engage in discussions with speakers and lecturers, and interact with fellow participants from around the world. Participants will also take a basic Indonesian language class to help prepare them for their arrival in Indonesia.

Week 2 โ€“ Onsite Experience in Indonesia
In the second week, participants will travel to Indonesia to join workshops, academic sessions, and cultural activities at UMN, while learning about sustainability practices on our green campus. The program includes a visit to TMII (Taman Mini Indonesia Indah) to explore traditional Indonesian houses, see the endemic Komodo dragon, visit Museum Indonesia, and enjoy the dancing fountains. Participants will also experience village life and learn local wisdom on sustainability, before concluding the week by sharing their cultures and building friendships with peers from around the world.

Week 3 โ€“ Reflection & Reporting (Online)
After returning to their home countries, participants will conclude the program with an online reflection session and final reporting of their learning experiences.

UMN Indonesian Experience

Curious about how technology and culture intersect in one of Southeast Asiaโ€™s most dynamic countries? The UMN Indonesian Experience Program offers participants the opportunity to explore Artificial Intelligence, technology and innovation in a collaborative international learning environment. Along the way, participants will also discover Indonesiaโ€™s rich traditions, local communities, and vibrant lifestyle. The program runs every January, with the program structure outlined below:

Week 1 โ€“ Online Workshops
In the first week, participants will attend a series of online workshops and introductory sessions. During these sessions, students will learn about Artificial Intelligence, emerging technologies, and innovation. They will also explore how AI can be applied to real-world challenges, such as environmental sustainability and social development. In addition, participants will take a basic Indonesian language class to help prepare them for their arrival in Indonesia.

Week 2 โ€“ Onsite Experience in Indonesia
In the second week, participants will travel to Indonesia and take part in workshops, academic sessions, and cultural activities organized by UMN. They will visit an AI-utilizing company, connect with our business incubator, and explore some of Indonesiaโ€™s most beautiful museums. Participants will also experience Indonesian culture through batik-making, traditional games and musical instruments, while sharing their own cultures and building friendships with peers from around the world.

Week 3 โ€“ Reflection & Reporting (Online)
After returning to their home countries, participants will conclude the program with an online reflection session and final reporting of their learning experiences.

Guest Lecture Program

The Guest Lecture Program at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) provides an opportunity for international partners to share their expertise with our students through a 150-minute online lecture session. The session is designed as an interactive knowledge-sharing experience where lecturers can present their insights, research, or professional perspectives to UMN students.

The program is flexible and commitment-free. It is not a long-term teaching assignment, but rather a platform to exchange ideas, perspectives, and academic experiences between institutions.

This opportunity is open to lecturers from universities that already have an MoU or Faculty Exchange MoA with UMN. Interested faculty members are welcome to volunteer themselves as guest lecturers and propose topics aligned with their expertise. Partner universitiesโ€™ International Offices are also welcome to propose lecturers from their institution who may be interested in contributing to the program.

In addition, UMN warmly welcomes the possibility of reciprocal guest lectures based on request, where our professors can also deliver online lectures to students at partner universities.

UMN professors bring strong expertise across a wide range of disciplines, including Strategic Communication, Digital Journalism, Film and Animation, Green Architecture, Graphic Design, Big Data, Data Mining, Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things (IoT), Financial Technology and Management, enabling them to share both academic insights and industry-relevant perspectives with students worldwide.

Through this initiative, UMN aims to strengthen academic collaboration, enrich classroom discussions, and foster a more international learning environment.

Visiting Professor Program

The Visiting Professor Program invites faculty members from our international partner universities to spend up to two weeks on our green and vibrant campus. During the visit, the professor may contribute through teaching sessions, collaborative research discussions, and community outreach activities, sharing expertise with students, lecturers, and the wider community.

UMN may facilitate several benefits for visiting professors, including support for airfare, accommodation, and other related arrangements, subject to availability and mutual agreement.

The program is open exclusively to institutions that have an active MoU or Faculty Exchange MoA with UMN. The initiative also encourages reciprocal opportunities, allowing UMN professors to visit partner universities for similar academic engagements.

Through this program, UMN seeks to strengthen international collaboration, expand research networks, and create impactful academic exchanges that benefit both institutions.

Joint-Research Program

Joint-Research Program is a research cooperation program carried out by UMN with one or more domestic and foreign institutional partners, aiming to conduct joint research on certain mutually agreed topics, share supporting resources, and build a strong connection with academics globally.

The goal of this program is to produce innovative and high-quality research which can benefit society, the environment, industry, and the academic world at large, as well as enhance their reputation in the field of research.

Joint Degree Program

Joint Degree in Global Logistics Management with INHA University, South Korea

Looking to gain international exposure and earn a degree from a prestigious Korean university? Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) offers an exciting opportunity through its Joint Degree Program in Global Logistics Management with INHA University in South Korea.

This program provides an integrated international curriculum designed to equip students with strong foundations in logistics, business management, and global supply chain systems.

The journey begins with four semesters at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN), where students study core subjects related to logistics and business, then continue their studies at INHA University in South Korea by enrolling in the Global Logistics Management on Business Administration (GLOBA) program as third-year students.

During the next four semesters, students will explore advanced topics in international logistics such as global logistics management, international logistics systems, warehouse and material handling management, manufacturing logistics, aviation logistics, logistics business modeling, logistics information systems, and corporate big data analytics.

Beyond academic learning, students who demonstrate proficiency in the Korean language may also have the opportunity to undertake internships with Korean companies, allowing them to gain valuable international work experience and industry exposure.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive two undergraduate degrees:

UMN x Inha University, South Korea

Joint Degree โ€“ Logistic Management Program

At the end of the study, participants will undertake an internship in South Korean companies, to get international working competence and experience. Participants will receive a Bachelor of Economics (S.E) from UMN and a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Inha University.

Inha University
Inha is a private research university in Incheon, South Koreaโ€™s third most populous city, 27 kilometers southwest of the capital, Seoul. The university was founded in 1954 as Inha Institute of Technology, the name Inha is formed of the first two letters of Incheon (โ€œInโ€) and Hawaii (โ€œHaโ€), which was established to mark 50 years of Korean emigration to the US state. It was granted university status in 1972, the year it also became known by its current name, and has maintained its strong reputation for technological research. Inha is deeply committed to internationalization and is part of the Global U8 Consortium.

The Joint-Publication Program is a collaboration program between UMN and domestic & foreign partner institutions to publish joint publications. In this program, both parties will work together in designing, writing, and publishing scientific or academic publications related to their respective fields of expertise.

Lecturer Exchange Program

Lecturer Exchange Program adalah program dimana dosen pengajar UMN dan universitas mitra baik dari dalam maupun luar negeri akan melakukan pertukaran dosen dalam jangka waktu tertentu.

Tujuan utama dari program ini adalah untuk memperluas pengetahuan dan pengalaman akademik para dosen, meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan dan pengajaran di kedua institusi, diperkenalkan dengan metode pengajaran baru, serta mempererat hubungan akademik antar universitas dan negara yang terlibat dalam program ini. Pertukaran dosen juga dapat meningkatkan reputasi universitas dan membuka peluang kerja sama akademik lainnya.

Program Kampus Merdeka Pertukaran Pelajar is nowย OPEN.

Dengan mengikuti program ini, kamu bisa mengambil mata kuliah yang berbeda dari beberapa Prodi UMN. Program ini membuka kesempatan bagi mahasiswa untuk mengambil sampai dengan maksimal 20 SKS.

  1. Scan Results of Application for Study Permits for Foreign Students from Tertiary Education Institutions addressed to the Director of Higher Education Institutional Development.
  2. Information related to study programs and personal data.
  3. Scan of Letter Received at Higher Education (LOA).
  4. Scan Results of Diploma or Academic Transcripts.
  5. Passport Scan Results.
  6. Scans of Statement Letter, stating that: (1) Will not work while studying in Indonesia, (2) Do not participate in political activities, (3) Comply with the existing laws and regulations in Indonesia
  7. The scanned statement letter from the guarantor or person in charge while studying
  8. Scanned Certificate of Financing Guarantee
  9. Scanned Results of Health Certificate.
  10. Scanned passport-size color photographs.
