
UMN Conducts Industry Visit to PT Odoo Software Indonesia, Preparing Students for Their Careers

Tangerang – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara along with Garuda Hacks recently just held the biggest hackathon competition in Southeast Asia on Thursday (24/07/2025). Garuda Hacks 6.0 brings out a topic about “Identity Through Innovation”. Joined by more than 500 participants, this event is expected to give an innovative and sustainable solution. This event is open to the public and joined by students and also workers.
Garuda Hacks is an international competition that is held every year. On 2025, Garuda Hacks 6.0 is held at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, participant is competeted the hackathon in 30 hours. Garuda Hacks 6.0 isn’t just an international competition but also expected to inspire the young generation in Indonesia and Southeast Asia to innovate through technology and information for the issue nowadays.
“I am thrilled that this year’s participant number has grown, this event couldn’t be held without the participant and support from the committee. I am pretty sure that most of the participant felt scared, and questioning themself ‘Am I enough?’ But that’s the magnificence thing from this event. We made this event for the younger generation to give solutions for the current issue without looking up to your background,” says Maria Gracia Athalia as Co-Managing Manager Garuda Hacks 6.0.
Maria expected through Garuda Hacks 6.0 the participants could deliver new innovations, and it’s not just about competing but also helping each other out. Maria also leaves messages for the participant to enjoy all of the process, because from this event the participants will still have a positive impact even if the event is over. Garuda Hacks 6.0 is also supported by PT Mandiri Capital Indonesia, one of Garuda Hacks 6.0 partners.
“I’m sure that all of the participants have their own vision and mission to build and look up solutions for the current issue through Garuda Hacks 6.0. We all know that there’s a lot of industries and start-ups which are not in a good condition, and it’s because of efficiency and it’s not sustainable. Thus, I hope all the participants could find the solutions and opportunities for today’s issue,” says Faris Iman Nurcahyo, as Head of Investments PT. Mandiri Capital Indonesia on the opening speech of Garuda Hacks 6.0.
Faris himself says that this event isn’t just pushing the participant to look up for new innovations but also builds a strong foundation and also one of the sustainable solutions. Faris also added with Garuda Hacks 6.0 the participant could innovate something useful, definite, and give a positive impact for a sustainable economy.
“Previously we were involved in Garuda Hacks with approximately 400 participants, I am thrilled that this year the number of participants has grown. I hope that Garuda Hacks 6.0 could bring out solutions with technology and teach a lot of new things for the participants,” says Krizia Angelina as Manager for Student Engagement UMN.
Krizia herself is satisfied that this event goes smoothly and all of the participants could enjoy the process at UMN. Krizia expected all of the participants could go along with the event and create new sustainable technology innovation.
“I’m happy UMN could participate in Garuda Hacks 6.0, we will continue to keep this trust for the participants and all of the partners of this event. I hope that this event could contribute in the information and technology field, and I also hope all of the participants could get precious experience after this,” says Dennis Gunawan, S.Kom., M.Sc., as Secretary of Bachelor in Informatics.
Dennis hopes throughout Garuda Hacks 6.0 competition could result in amazing technology innovation, and obviously following the technology trend in this era. Dennis expected that the participants wouldn’t just compete but also learn something new from Garuda Hacks 6.0.
This event took 30 hours, starting from Thursday (24/07) to the final on Saturday (26/07). Some of Universitas Multimedia Nusantara Students also joined Garuda Hacks 6.0 event, and won some of the categories in the competition.
The winner of Garuda Hacks 6.0 in the Track Connecting Cultures category, Second Place, was awarded to Aurelius Ivan Devita from the Informatics Study Program, class of 2021, and Agnes Devita Widjaja from the Informatics Study Program, class of 2023.
