TANGERANG – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with PT Yamato Indonesia Forwarding on Monday (July 14), as a joint commitment to bridge the gap between education and industry. UMN Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Employability, and Entrepreneurship, Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F., CSA, and PT Yamato Indonesia Forwarding Vice President Muhamad Nizar Sanusi conducted the signing.
In her remarks, Ika Yanuarti expressed appreciation for this collaboration, which is not limited to recruitment but also open to research collaboration, curriculum alignment, and scholarship program support. She emphasized the importance of synergy between higher education institutions and the workforce to accelerate graduates’ adaptation upon entering the industry.
“Our latest program, curriculum matching, allows fifth-semester students to receive materials directly from companies. This way, when they graduate and start working, the adaptation process can be much faster,” Ika explained. UMN also opens space for mandatory feedback from the industry to ensure graduates’ competencies align with labor market needs.

PT Yamato Indonesia Forwarding also welcomed this collaboration. Muhamad Nizar Sanusi emphasized the importance of communicating the logistics industry’s potential to the younger generation, especially Gen Z, who are increasingly interested in non-traditional careers, such as content creators or freelancers.
“The transportation and logistics industry is actually very long-lasting. We are traditional, but we are also open to technological developments and need fresh ideas from outside,” he said. He hopes that the collaboration with UMN can serve as a means of regeneration and innovation in facing industry competition.
In addition to recruitment programs, PT Yamato Indonesia Forwarding also offers opportunities to participate in campus activities, such as career days, experience-sharing programs, and joint industry content production with students.
UMN’s leadership also attended the signing of the MoU. This collaboration is expected to be a concrete step in producing job-ready graduates relevant to today’s industry needs.
