Tangerang – On Wednesday (08/27/2025), Universitas Multimedia Nusantara received a visit from City University Malaysia. The visit was intended to initiate various collaborations between UMN and City University Malaysia in the future. In addition to discussing collaboration opportunities, UMN also had the chance to formalize its partnership with City University Malaysia through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The visit was attended by UMN’s rectorate and the UMN Faculty of Arts and Design, particularly UMN’s architecture study program and PPAr UMN.
City University Malaysia is a university in Malaysia with campuses in four locations: Petaling Jaya, Cyberjaya, Johor Bahru, and Kota Kinabalu. Established in 1984, City University Malaysia is the sixth-best university in ASEAN. On this occasion, UMN had the opportunity to discuss collaboration programs that could be carried out with City University Malaysia in the future.
“There are many things that can be collaborated on, and it is hoped that this will strengthen the relationship between UMN and City University Malaysia and create a brighter future,” Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN Rector, said.
Andrey initiated various collaborations, such as student exchanges, international competitions, and partnerships between students and lecturers from UMN and City University Malaysia. Andrey hopes that this collaboration initiative can be realized soon.
“In line with UMN’s goal of shaping a brighter future for education, we are certainly open to various research collaborations, conferences, and other collaborations that can be mutually beneficial for both universities and both countries. This collaboration can also involve many faculties or study programs,” said Prof. Dr. Rosnizah Bt Shaari.
Sharing UMN’s vision of paying attention to technological developments, one of which is Artificial Intelligence, Rosnizah agreed that this could be an interesting topic for future collaboration, considering that AI is vast. For Rosnizah, as humans, we must be able to surpass existing technology.
By formalizing this collaboration, UMN hopes to involve not only the Faculty of Arts and Design but also three other faculties. Through this collaboration, UMN hopes to become a world-class university and be more recognized in the global arena.
