TANGERANG – The Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) Master of Technology Management (MMT) and Film Study Programs collaborated to organize a Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology grant program through a community service scheme. This initiative aims to strengthen the capacity of the Women’s Group–Family Empowerment and Welfare (Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga/PKK) and MSME actors through training and mentoring, while also encouraging the development of the potential of Cirarab Tourism Village, Tangerang Regency.
The Student Creativity Program (Program Kreatifitas Mahasiswa/PKM) Directorate General of Higher Education (Dikti) Grant team consists of Dr. Drs. J. Johny Natu Prihanto, M.M. as the chief executive, Frans Sahala Moshes Rinto, S.I.Kom, M.I.Kom., and Dr. Prio Utomo, S.T., MPC as PKM executive lecturers, as well as Gita Megantari Novianda, Dyota Akyla Irangga Yusuf, Baiq Dhita Risky Saputri, Natanael Abednego Parulian Sitorus, Opik Hidayat, Rebeka Fibriana, Dani Surya Wijaya, Christian Teguh, and Christian Sunmoonday as student members.
This PKM program aims to increase the capacity of MSMEs, encourage sustainable product innovation, and introduce the Cirarab Tourism Village. Training and mentoring were conducted for two days on August 5-6, 2025, at the Cirarab Village Head Office, aligning with UMN’s commitment to supporting SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth and SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
“We are proud and grateful for UMN’s assistance. This training is expected to help us develop local products, improve digital skills, and prepare MSMEs to become more widely known,” the Chairwoman of the Cirarab Village PKK, Mrs Maslihah, said in her welcoming speech.
Participants attended four training sessions on the first day (August 5, 2025). The session began with Business Model Canvas (BMC) by Gita Megantari Novianda, where participants were also invited to practice developing business strategies directly through case studies. Next, Natanael Abednego Parulian Sitorus presented material on design using the Canva application on mobile phones.
In the third session, Dyota Akyla Irrangga Yusuf trained participants in basic product photography techniques using mobile phone cameras. The last session closed with Digital Marketing by Baiq Dhita Risky Saputri, where participants successfully created store accounts on Shopee and started selling digitally.
Meanwhile, the second day (August 6, 2025) focused on Product Diversification with an introduction to gluten-free and vegan ingredients from UMN Hospitality alumni class of 2017, Saskia Putri Adhelia Ciwijaya. Participants practiced cooking bento cakes from gluten-free and vegan ingredients.
At the end of the session, the PKM team handed over raw materials and production equipment, which was made possible thanks to funding from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. Some of the assistance provided included an Oil Spinner, a Chip Cutter Machine, a Meat Grinder Machine, a Meatball Maker, support for modern packaging innovations, and others.
In addition to training and mentoring, the PKM team also designed the official website for Cirarab Tourism Village https://www.desacirarab.com/ and created a profile video for Cirarab Tourism Village. These two outputs are expected to assist the village in digital promotion, expand its tourism reach, and provide added value for SMEs and the local community.

The Head of PKM and lecturer at MMT UMN, Dr. Drs. J. Johny Natu Prihanto, M.M., added that this PKM activity aligns with UMN’s commitment to supporting technology—and innovation-based village development.
“Digital skills and product innovation are key to enabling village MSMEs to climb the ladder. Through this program, we want to encourage the emergence of an adaptive, creative, and highly competitive community,” he said.
The Head of Cirarab Village, Mrs Hj. Imas Rayulatifah expressed her appreciation and hopes for implementing this activity. “We are grateful to UMN for accompanying the PKK women and MSME actors in our village. This activity is very useful because it provides practical skills that can be immediately applied. Hopefully, this collaboration will continue in the future and bring Cirarab Village further progress,” she said.
This activity received a positive response from MSME actors. Most participants considered that the material presented aligned with their business needs and provided practical skills that could be applied immediately. The hope is that this new knowledge will increase the competitiveness of local products while strengthening the village’s economic ecosystem to be more independent, innovative, and sustainable.
Thank you for the funding support from the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM) through the 2025 Kemdiktisaintek Community Empowerment Grant Scheme (Contract Number 1059/LL3/DT.06.01/2025, 2500/HIBAHPKM -RIS/VI/2025).
