Tangerang, (February 3, 2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) welcomed 34 international exchange students from India, Kazakhstan, and Cambodia. The exchange students were welcomed by UMN’s university administration, deans, and current UMN students.
In realizing its vision of becoming a world-class university, UMN consistently initiates international programs with its partner universities. This semester, UMN welcomed 34 students to participate in its academic programs. This step demonstrates UMN’s commitment to continuously providing a globally competitive education.
“It is a pleasure to welcome and earn the trust of students participating in the international exchange program at UMN. Through this program, students not only gain new knowledge but also develop new skills and broaden their global perspectives,” Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN Rector, said.
Andrey also urged the students to make the most of their learning experience and to explore the diverse cultures of Indonesia. It is hoped that the students participating in this exchange program will build new connections with UMN students and have an enjoyable study experience.
“Through the international student exchange program, UMN not only strengthens collaboration with partner universities but also provides students with new learning and cultural experiences. This program is also strategic for UMN students in building connections and learning about cross-cultural interactions between countries in the future,” Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization at UMN, explained.
Friska hopes that the involvement of exchange students at UMN will create a different academic atmosphere, and she expects students to gain as much knowledge as possible, both academically and non-academically.
“This exchange program is a strategic initiative for students to gain new experiences. Given the wide variety of student activities at UMN, I hope the exchange students will actively participate this semester alongside other UMN students,” Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F., CSA., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, said.
Ika also emphasized that the exchange students will receive full support from the Student Affairs Office and UMN student buddies for one semester. This program is expected to enrich the academic experience of the exchange students.
“It’s a pleasure to welcome exchange students to UMN. Through this program, I hope students can spend their time exploring various new, enjoyable, and positive experiences while broadening their global perspectives,” Prof. Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Sustainability, said.
Sari also expressed her hope that the exchange students would bring a different academic atmosphere and build an even broader network. It is hoped that this event will also strengthen UMN’s global collaboration with partner universities in the future.

“I am happy and excited to participate in the exchange program at UMN. For me, this is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that is truly invaluable. Of course, I feel a little nervous being in a new environment. Still, I’m confident that by participating in this program, I can represent my university and my country on an international level,” said Twinkle Chauhan, a student representative from Chitkara University in India who joined UMN’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics.
Twinkle chose UMN specifically for its modern learning facilities and its focus on media and technology. Additionally, she was drawn to UMN’s commitment to global collaboration and its reputation as one of Indonesia’s leading ICT-focused universities.
“From an academic perspective, I want to learn many new technical concepts that are different from what I’ve studied in my home country. Beyond academics, I also want to experience UMN’s 5C values (Caring, Credible, Competent, Competitive, and Customer Delight). More than that, I also want to delve into Indonesian culture and build lasting connections with new friends in Indonesia,” she added.
In addition to undergraduate students, UMN also offers exchange opportunities for graduate students. One graduate student who participated in the exchange program and joined UMN’s Master of Technology Management (MMT) program is Siddhi Pratap Chauhan.
“I am grateful to have been selected for the exchange program. This opportunity is a testament to my academic dedication, adaptability, and ability to thrive in an international learning environment. My background in management and my curiosity about global perspectives make me the ideal candidate for this program,” explained Siddhi.
According to Siddhi, UMN provides unique knowledge, particularly in both theoretical and practical aspects, especially in the field of digital-based management. By participating in this exchange program, Siddhi is confident he will gain a broader perspective and build connections across diverse cultural backgrounds.
“I hope to develop a global mindset and enhance my cross-cultural skills, particularly in business. Beyond that, I also want to understand and learn about the culture and social values in Indonesia, while expanding my global network,” Siddhi concluded.
The presence of international exchange students at UMN not only enriches the academic experience but also strengthens sustainable cross-cultural relationships. Through this collaboration, UMN hopes to continue serving as a meeting place for ideas, perspectives, and innovations from all corners of the world.
