Teesside University Visitations to UMN
May 7, 2025Universitas Multimedia Nusantara demonstrates a commitment to ensuring equitable access to higher education through structured support schemes for people with disabilities. The university embeds non-discrimination principles within its academic and employment policies, guaranteeing equal opportunities for students, faculty, and staff regardless of physical ability. To operationalize this commitment, UMN established a dedicated Disability Service Unit (Unit Layanan Disabilitas/ULD) under Rector’s Decree No. 138/SK-R/II/2025, which coordinates individualized academic accommodations, facilitates communication between students and lecturers, and ensures appropriate learning adjustments based on specific needs.
Beyond policy commitments, UMN implements systematic academic support mechanisms that enable students with disabilities to participate fully in campus life. These include learning adjustments, peer mentoring, accessible learning materials, and coordination with academic departments to ensure inclusive teaching practices.
UMN further strengthens its inclusive framework by integrating accessibility into both physical and digital learning environments, ensuring that students with disabilities are not only admitted but empowered to succeed academically. Through continuous monitoring, institutional collaboration, and the provision of assistive resources, UMN aligns its inclusion strategy with broader sustainability goals that emphasize equity, diversity, and equal participation in higher education.
