Tangerang—On Tuesday, May 6, 2025, the UMN Career Development Center (CDC) held its annual Career Day event. The event, which lasted two days, was held in Lobby B, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN). This year’s Career Day provided numerous opportunities for internships and fresh graduates.
Career Day is an annual event organized by the Career Development Center (CDC) at UMN. Its purpose is to open more career opportunities for UMN students and the public. This year, 37 companies attended Career Day.
“This year’s Career Day saw more companies offering internship positions compared to previous years. In my opinion, this is a great opportunity for UMN, as students are required to complete internships, so through Career Day, we can accommodate their needs,” said Elfira F. Wahyono, M.Si, Manager of the Career Development Center at UMN.
Various companies across different industries participated in the Career Day program, including technology and information, manufacturing, finance, retail, creative sectors, and many more. It is hoped that Career Day will assist UMN students and fresh graduates expand their career prospects.
“Currently, finding a company is challenging given the current economic difficulties, with many companies also facing economic hardships. My message to students seeking careers is not to give up; this is something that must be faced. Enhance the hard and soft skills that companies require,” Elfira said.
For Elfira, the most important thing for students to understand is to continuously explore new things that can enhance their skills, whether through campus-based learning or extracurricular activities. This will be beneficial for their future.
“My hope for UMN students’ career day, whether for internships or new graduates, is that more of them can be absorbed by companies. I also hope that companies can meet candidates who meet their needs, and that collaboration between companies and UMN’s Career Development Center (CDC) does not stop here but can expand into broader areas,” Elfira concluded.
