What Jobs Do UMN Accounting Grads Actually Get? Are They Still Needed in The AI Era?

Tangerang, (23/07/2026) – The UMN Sustainability Immersion Program (SIP) 2026 goes beyond simply teaching students about sustainability. More than that, this program encourages students to understand that sustainability is not only about protecting the environment, but also requires collaboration and an understanding of diverse perspectives to support sustainable development.
Participants of UMN SIP 2026, took part in a series of learning activities and practical sessions delivered directly by lecturers from UMN’s Faculty of Communication Science, Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, Faculty of Art and Design, and Faculty of Business. In addition, the students also received material from Skystar Ventures and the UMN Sustainability Centre.
“I learned that to achieve sustainability, we have to identify the concrete root causes of a problem. A single problem can have many different aspects and can be caused by various factors. Therefore, if we do not understand the problem and its underlying causes specifically, it will be difficult to create sustainable solutions because we do not fully understand how the problem occurs,” explained Yunhye Cho, a student from CHA University, South Korea.
Yunhye also stated her experience in discussing and collaborating with other students from across the world to compare the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) rankings of their respective countries. For her, the opportunity to understand sustainability issues from different national perspectives was both an interesting and rare experience.

“I gained a lot of new knowledge that I think is important to be known by the other students, especially about how every country has their own opportunity. But, for me, the most important thing that should have is quality education. Education is one of the foundations that enables a country to develop and support various aspects of life,” said Koji Lim Zhen Hoeng, a student from the National University of Singapore.
Beside that, Koji also shared one important thing he gained from his learning experience at UMN was a sense of togetherness. Through various learning activities and workshops, he realized the importance of collaboration and building connections among students. For him, the program was not only an opportunity to gain new knowledge, but also to build connections and broaden perspectives through interactions with students from different countries.
Throughout these activities, UMN SIP 2026 is not only provides students with new knowledge about sustainability, but also encourages them to develop green skills and human skills. Discussions, collaborations, and exchanges of perspectives become an integral part of the learning experience, sharpening students’ critical thinking skills and preparing them to contribute to sustainable development.
