UMN’s achievement in THE Impact Ranking 2026 (Dok. UMN)
Tangerang, (24/06/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) has once again achieved global recognition through the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings 2026. On this world ranking, UMN has successfully improved its position and secured a place in the 601–800 global rank. This achievement is supported through UMN’s achievement on several Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) indicators.
THE Impact Ranking is a global ranking which focuses on higher education contribution on SDGs. In 2026 ranking, UMN recorded its strongest performance in SDG 5 (Gender Equality), ranking in the 101–200 global band, followed by SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), also ranked in the 101–200 global band, and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), which was placed in the 301–400 global band.
“We’re very grateful and honored for this achievement. THE Impact Ranking 2026 is UMN’s motivation for us to continuously enhance quality and strengthen our contributions at both the national and international levels,” said Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs and Internationalization at UMN.
UMN’s improved position in the THE Impact Rankings was driven not only by its commitment to sustainability, but also by its consistent implementation of the SDGs across both academic activities and campus operations. Through this initiative, Friska expected UMN could cultivate graduates who are not only proficient in technology, but also equipped with green skills and a strong commitment to sustainability that aligns with their respective fields of study.
“The achievement of a relatively high ranking in SDG 5 (Gender Equality) reflects UMN’s commitment to promoting gender equality across both academic and non-academic activities. One of its implementations is through support and funding for the female students who aspire to build startups through the Skystar Ventures program, while also ensuring equal opportunities for all members of the university community,” Friska added.
Looking ahead, Friska affirmed that UMN will strengthen its commitment on sustainability and integrated SDGs principles on education, research, community outreach, and university governance.
“I hope that UMN’s achievement in this world rankings will serve as an encouragement to continue improving the quality and impact it generates, enabling UMN to attain even better rankings and make tangible contributions to the society and sustainable development,” Friska concluded.
In addition to these achievements, UMN also secured a global ranking of 301–400 in SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 401–600 in SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), 401–600 in SDG 13 (Climate Action), and 801–1000 in SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
