UMN Together with ULAB and USM Shared Perpectives Regarding Fake News and Deepfake
December 12, 2025TANGERANG – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) welcomed international students for the Odd Semester 2025/2026 Student Exchange program with a unique twist. Students from the Korea University of Media Arts (KUMA), South Korea, and the Kryachkov Novosibirsk State University of Architecture, Design and Arts (NSUADA), Russia, were invited to get an up-close look at Jakarta through a city tour powered entirely by public transportation. Moving away from private vehicles, the students experienced life as local Jakartans by navigating the city’s integrated transit network, including the KRL Commuter Line, Jakarta MRT, and TransJakarta (Busway).
As students with backgrounds in art and design from both KUMA and NSUADA, this trip served as a fascinating visual observation. The route took them through iconic bustling centers such as the Blok M area, BundaranHI, and the historic Sarinah building. The blend of modern architecture and creative spaces at these locations provided fresh inspiration for the participants. Transitioning between trains and buses offered a firsthand look at the infrastructure and mobility of Indonesia’s rapidly evolving capital.
The exploration also allowed students to delve into Indonesia’s rich heritage. A key highlight was the visit to The National Museum, where the students observed thousands of artifacts chronicling the long history and cultural evolution of the Indonesian archipelago.
This city tour program is designed to ensure international students do not just stay within the campus perimeter, but also successfully adapt to the local environment. For the students from South Korea and Russia, Jakarta’s integrated public transport system provided an exciting way to understand urban planning and local social dynamics firsthand. Through this activity, UMN hopes that the students from KUMA and NSUADA return home with a rich cultural perspective while further strengthening the international partnership between the universities.
