Student Mental Health Support
UMN provides dedicated mental health services to support students in managing academic pressures, personal challenges, and overall well-being. These services are designed to create a safe and confidential environment where students can seek professional support.
Key features of student mental health support include:
Counseling Services

Students can access professional mental health support through UMN Student Support, which provides counseling services facilitated by qualified psychologists. The services include individual counseling and group counseling sessions conducted in a safe and confidential environment, allowing students to openly discuss academic stress, personal challenges, emotional well-being, and other mental health concerns. Through these services, UMN aims to support students’ psychological well-being and help them navigate both academic and personal aspects of their university experience.
Peer Counseling/ Konselor Sebaya UMN

(Training for Peer Counseling, 2025)
UMN fosters student mental health through the Konselor Sebaya program, which enables trained student peers to provide support and guidance to fellow students. Peer counselors help their peers manage academic stress, personal challenges, and emotional well-being, promoting a culture of empathy, mutual support, and proactive mental health awareness on campus.
Students participating in the program receive structured training and mentoring from professional psychologists at Student Support, equipping them with essential counseling skills and knowledge. This training ensures that peer counselors are prepared to listen, understand, and provide constructive guidance, while also contributing to the overall psychological well-being of the university community.
Workshops and Seminars
The university regularly organizes workshops, seminars, and awareness programs focused on mental health literacy, stress management, emotional resilience, and healthy coping strategies. These activities aim to equip students with practical skills to maintain their mental well-being.

Online Mental Health Resources
Students also have access to mental health education materials through the university’s digital platforms, including informational content on self-care practices, mental health awareness, and guidance on seeking professional help when needed.
These initiatives aim to ensure that students have timely access to professional support and resources that promote psychological well-being and academic success.

Ruang Berkisah is an online counseling access point provided by UMN Student Support, allowing students to confidentially share their concerns and seek psychological assistance from professional counselors. Through this platform, students can submit their issues and arrange counseling support in a safe and supportive environment.
