Tangerang, (09/11/2025) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara hosted a Chinese education and career expo. This event was initiated by the Ministry of Education of China and the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange. On this occasion, UMN provided a platform for students to continue their studies and careers in China. In addition, UMN had the opportunity to engage in collaborative discussions with seven universities in China.
As a tangible commitment to collaboration and the improvement of education in Indonesia, UMN continues to be actively involved in various activities to advance education in Indonesia. This time, UMN collaborated with the Chinese Ministry of Education, the Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange, and Ticket Station to facilitate educational exchange between Indonesia and China. Dr. Andrey Andoko, Rector of UMN, was also present and opened the event.
“The world of education is currently developing without national boundaries. This activity can serve as a bridge to strengthen relations between universities in Indonesia and universities in China. This is a good opportunity to continue strengthening cooperation through various collaborations in the fields of academics, research, lecturer exchanges, and student exchanges,” Andrey said.
For Andrey, this event is in line with UMN’s initiative to continue to increase international collaboration with various universities. This is also evident in UMN’s achievement in the QS Rating, ranking it among the Top 500 in Asia and the Top 100 in Southeast Asia.
“Apart from education, Indonesia also has great economic potential and can attract China to continue investing in Indonesia. Through the career fair, it is hoped that university graduates in Indonesia can become the best talent source who will contribute to the progress of companies in China, which also means contributing to the progress of Indonesia. I hope that the relationship between China and Indonesia can become stronger in both education and business,” Andrey concluded.
UMN also had the opportunity to open discussions with seven universities in China. These discussions included initiating collaborations between UMN and universities in China. Various collaboration opportunities opened by UMN include student exchanges, student mobility, joint-degree programs, visiting professors, joint research, and international competitions. The seven universities are:
- Institute of Environment and Ecology, Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School
- Beijing Institute of Technology
- Institute Urban Design Center, School of Architecture, Southeast University
- Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics
- South China Agricultural University
- Zhengzhou University
- City University of Hong Kong
“It is hoped that this collaboration can be formalized soon and will involve four faculties at UMN. Of course, this collaboration will not only benefit UMN but also the universities that will be involved and collaborate. UMN has initiated many collaborations, and we are also open to collaborations in return,” Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Internationalization, said.
Friska hopes this collaboration can begin soon and provide valuable experiences for UMN students and faculty. Additionally, it will certainly elevate UMN’s global profile. By continuously expanding collaborations, UMN not only supports sustainable partnerships but also contributes to Indonesia’s efforts to enhance educational quality.
