Tangerang – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) continues to expand its presence on the international stage. UMN has achieved two international accomplishments, including QS Asia Rank 451–460 and Rank 78 in Southeast Asia. In addition, UMN also achieved a Times Higher Education (THE) ranking in the THE Impact Rankings 801–1000 in the World Rank. This is proof of UMN’s spirit and support to continue providing education quality that has a global impact.
“This is the first time UMN has received QS Asia Rank 451–460 and Rank 78 in Southeast Asia, a very excellent achievement. Obviously we will continue to strive to improve this ranking in the future. There’ll be several things and indicators that we will improve, so that UMN has a better global reputation, namely academic reputation, employability reputation, research and publication productivity, as well as student exchange programs,” said Dr. Andrey Andoko, Rector of UMN.
Andrey expected with UMN’s inclusion in the QS Asia Ranking could be an asset and step for UMN becoming a world-class-university. Beside QS Asia Rank, UMN also achieved THE Impacts Ranking, Andrey himself will continue to be committed to building a better and more sustainable Earth.
“Since the beginning, UMN was indeed built as a green campus, sustainability is not something new for UMN. But now we have to relate these matters with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Of course, there are still many SDGs points that will be reviewed and considered again in the future, and hopefully it can be implemented through various academic and non-academic activities,” added Andrey.
Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., as Vice Rector for Academic and Internationalization, also expressed her pride in UMN’s achievements in the QS Asia Rank and THE Impact Ranking. For Friska, UMN’s involvement in global rankings can enhance UMN’s global reputation and allow it to shine in world-class rankings.
“QS Rank and THE Impact Ranking are global-level education rankings and have a very big influence on UMN and the students. This is very important because students and prospective students will obviously pay attention to these rankings,” said Friska.
Friska herself will focus on strengthening UMN’s internationalization programs, such as joint research with academics, student exchange, and visiting professors. Not only that, in the development of sustainability, UMN will continue to integrate learning with SDGs, and prepare graduates who are ready to face global challenges and have green skills and green jobs,” added Friska.
“I hope UMN can be much better and achieve even more international rankings, so that it can provide more opportunities for the UMN academic community and create positive impact for the environment and globally,” Friska concluded.
