Tangerang, (12/22/2025) – UMN Strategic Communication student Daffa Fadilla has just made an achievement at the 2025 SEA Games. Daffa won a gold medal in ice hockey with the Indonesian National Team. This achievement reflects UMN’s success in creating an educational environment that supports students to excel in various fields.
The SEA Games (Southeast Asian Games) is a multinational sporting event participated in by Southeast Asian countries. This event is held every two years and includes various sports, including ice hockey. The 2025 SEA Games ice hockey competition was held at the Thailand International Ice Hockey Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
“Since July 2025, I have been joining the National Training Center (Pelatnas). During my time at Pelatnas, the team conducted various routine training sessions, both physical and on the field. Training was also held in Korea and at a tournament in Thailand. For me, the training was quite tough and required high discipline and teamwork among the players,” Daffa said.
Daffa has been involved in hockey since he was 9 years old. For him, this sport is exciting and requires a lot of physical balance and high concentration. This is also part of Daffa’s dream to join the Indonesian National Team. Daffa himself has previously achieved various achievements in ice hockey, namely a Bronze Medal at the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship and a Silver Medal at the 2025 Land Of Smile Paradice Cup.
“I am very proud to have won a gold medal at the 2025 SEA Games. Through this achievement, I can bring honor to Indonesia and, of course, to UMN, where I have gained a lot of knowledge and received full support from the beginning of the process,” he added.
Daffa also shared a message with UMN students that everyone has their own interests in which they can excel. These achievements can be academic or non-academic, providing opportunities to grow, learn, and shine. The most important thing for Daffa is consistency and the courage to try new things.
