Tangerang, (03/11/2025) – UMN’s Continuing Education Department (CED) has officially launched a collaboration with the Regency of Banggai, Central Sulawesi. The collaboration was officially launched in the presence of Ir.H. Amirudin, MM., AIFO., as the Regent of Banggai. This collaboration will encompass KSU 4IRTC training and research, which is expected to have a positive impact on Banggai Regency.
As proof of UMN’s commitment to sustainability, UMN officially launched its collaboration with the Banggai Government. UMN will realize this commitment through various existing programs, ranging from student training through KSU 4IRTC to research and innovation.
“There are many things that can be collaborated on with UMN in the future, and it is not limited to training to prepare industry experts; we are open to various other collaborations. One of them is research collaboration with the UMN academic community. Various topics and study programs can be involved in joint research with the Banggai Government,” Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice-Rector for Academic and Internationalization, said.
One of the research initiatives by Friska is in the field of Computer Engineering, but this does not rule out the possibility of other study programs being involved in the future. Considering that UMN also integrates the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its academic activities, it is hoped that this will involve and collaborate with study programs and various divisions at UMN in the future.
“I hope this collaboration can have a real impact on the environment, society, and economy in the future. It is hoped that this collaboration can be realized soon and can strengthen the relationship between UMN and the Banggai Government,” Friska explained.
On this occasion, Ir. H. Amirudin, MM., AIFO., as the Regent of Banggai, also expressed his pride in collaborating with UMN. For Amirudin, collaboration is essential for a region to continue to develop. The Banggai Government itself is active in conducting and implementing collaborations with universities.
“Of course, we in the government cannot work alone. Seeing the various opportunities, we also see great potential for collaboration. We want to continue to develop Banggai Regency. By collaborating with UMN, we can provide opportunities for Indonesian children to develop themselves,” Amirudin said.
Amirudin believes that this collaboration can have a sustainable impact on Indonesia’s younger generation. With the opportunity to train and conduct research with UMN, it is hoped that this will have a significant impact, bringing innovation to Banggai Regency, particularly in technology, research, and sustainable tourism in the future.
