Tangerang, (10/24/2025) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) recently received a visit from Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). As one of UMN’s domestic university partners, this visit was intended to expand the scope of collaboration, and not only that, but it was also intended to strengthen the relationship between UMN and UPH.
UPH is a private university in Tangerang, Banten, offering various excellent programs. UMN has previously partnered with UPH, has several collaborations, and is involved in the same programs. On this occasion, UMN had the opportunity to discuss broader collaboration opportunities.
“Collaboration with domestic universities is important for UMN. By working together, there are many things we can do and learn from each other. There are many things UMN can learn from UPH and vice versa. We can initiate new things together,” Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN Rector, said
Andrey emphasized that UMN has a responsibility and role to face the increasingly rapid global changes. For Andrey, collaboration is one way for universities to strengthen their cooperation and realize their respective visions and missions.
“We want to learn a lot from UMN. Seeing UMN’s achievements in the QS Rank certainly encourages us to understand more. There are many things we want to learn, starting from research, community service programs, and various other collaborations. We are very open to collaborations with UMN,” Eric Jobiliong, Ph.D., Vice President of Academics, Research, and Innovations, said.
For Eric, domestic universities need to collaborate to improve education quality in Indonesia jointly. During the discussion, Eric expressed his openness to collaborating with UMN not only in research but also in various other areas, particularly UMN’s international programs and competitions that can be carried out together.
“We also want to learn a lot from UPH, considering that we are currently both moving towards internationalization, there are certainly many programs that can be collaborated on, one of which is the student mobility program. Not only that, we also want to learn about the faculties at UPH, one of which is the Faculty of Artificial Intelligence, because Artificial Intelligence (AI) is studied at UMN,” Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., Vice Rector for Academic and Internationalization Affairs, said during the discussion.
According to Friska, UPH has excellent global recognition, encouraging UMN to continue learning new things. Collaborating will benefit both parties, and UMN and UPH can also gain global recognition. This will provide valuable experiences for students and lecturers.
“UMN has been conducting many PKM activities with foreign universities, and currently, we are also collaborating with industries. Of course, we are open if UPH wants to be involved in UMN’s PKM program. This collaboration can be excellent and certainly have a broader and better impact,” Prof. Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Sustainability, explained.
Sari is also open to collaboration, especially research on AI and sustainability. These two topics are vast for Sari, and both faculties at UMN and UPH can fulfill the needs in their respective fields. Sari hopes that more useful research innovations will be made in the future. In addition to collaboration in the field of internationalization and research, UMN is also open to student collaboration.
“We can collaborate more, especially in the field of student development. This is an exciting opportunity for students from UMN and UPH to collaborate. One form of collaboration that can be done together is competitions. UMN has various international competitions that can also involve UPH. These competitions range from business competitions, hackathons, and various other competitions,” Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, explained.
Additionally, Ika also opened up opportunities for collaboration in the field of careers, including career development, which covers career days, corporate relationships, and other partnerships with industry that can encourage the absorption of alums into the world of work.
