Tangerang, Indonesia—Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) is demonstrating its dedication to Gender Equality by systematically measuring and tracking the gender balance of its student intake. The university’s admissions dashboard explicitly tracks Enrolled Student Gender as a direct measure of its acceptance and entry rates, confirming that its admissions process is fair and non-discriminatory. This systematic tracking is fundamental to ensuring that all students, regardless of gender, have equal access to tertiary education opportunities, an essential pillar of the university’s mission.
Measurement: Near-Equal Access for Male and Female Students
How does UMN systematically measure/track women’s application rate and acceptance or entry rate? The latest data reveals that UMN has achieved near-parity in its student body composition, reflecting the successful implementation of its equitable access policies. The enrolled student gender breakdown shows that 51.12% of the new intake are male, while 48.68% are female. This close balance, which is monitored regularly, indicates that UMN ensures women’s entry rates are proportional to, or slightly exceeding, their representation in the overall applicant pool. The data showcases that the university maintains an open and competitive environment, where neither gender is systematically disadvantaged in gaining admission.

Institutional Schemes Guaranteeing Non-Discrimination
The university’s strong performance in maintaining gender parity at the entry level is directly supported by formal institutional schemes designed to eliminate bias. The Rector’s Decree concerning the Implementation of Inclusivity Values serves as the central policy guaranteeing non-discrimination in all aspects of university life. This decree is the university’s commitment to providing education and services “equally to the entire academic community… without discriminating against… gender”. This commitment extends to the recruitment process, guaranteeing equal opportunities for all job applicants regardless of gender or marital status. By rigorously enforcing this policy and maintaining transparent enrollment tracking, UMN proactively addresses unequal access to education and reinforces its position as a leader in promoting gender equality within the academic sphere.
