Tangerang – UMN Student Mobility Program 2025 is successfully held offline, involving 63 students from around Cambodia, Philippines, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Indonesia. They explored various topics, from Indonesian culture to participating in several learning programs on sustainability at UMN.
Student Mobility is an annual program that is held by the International Office UMN in collaboration with universities who are in partnership with UMN. Same as the year before, the Student Mobility Program is emphasizing culture and sustainability. The Student Mobility Program also gave students experience and learning something new.
“I’m glad that the students participating in Student Mobility UMN 2025, all of you have already made new friends and learned many things about intercultural. I hope this is a great experience and could change life from the experience. . This is a great journey for your academics, all of you did not just learn in the classroom but also outside the classroom and get new experience”, says Dr. Andrey Andoko as UMN Rector.
Andrey expects the UMN Student Mobility Program as a form of UMN’s strong relationship with partner universities globally and to show that the world is becoming increasingly connected. Andrey hopes this collaboration will be stronger in the future and open up more opportunities to be explored, so that students can gain and bring important knowledge with them.
“I’m glad that UMN Student Mobility Program 2025 goes well, this is very special for me. A lot of students wanted to learn Indonesian culture, tried a lot of new things. I hope this isn’t just a new experience, but you could make new friends. This is not the end of your journey with UMN”, says Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T Wakil Rektor Bidang Akademik dan Internasionalisasi.
Friska hoped that later on the students could join other UMN’s programs in the future. Friska is open if the student wants to participate in a student exchange program or continue their master degree in UMN. For Friska herself, all of their students are now members of the UMN family.
UMN Student Mobility Program 2025 Activities
On Monday (14/07), 63 students from across universities in Asia participated in the opening ceremony of the Student Mobility 2025 program, held at the Function Hall, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara. This event is officially opened by UMN Rector himself Dr. Andrey Andoko, who also expressed his full support for this event. Beside strengthening collaboration between universities, the program is also expected to give a memorable experience for all participating students. On the same day, students who participated in UMN Student Mobility Program 2025 participated in a series of activities at UMN Campus. The first activity was an introduction about UMN Campus, followed by a session on Sustainable Start-Ups with Skystar Ventures, where students learned how to build sustainable start-ups and how such start-ups operate. The final activity was Indonesian Language and Culture, where students explored various Indonesian cultures and traditions, learned the basics of the Indonesian language, and even took part in traditional Indonesian dances.

Continuing the second day, on Tuesday (15/07) the students also visited UMN’s community development village in Bandung Village, Pandeglang. In this visit they got a chance to directly learn and experience Indonesian culture and traditions such as weaving, and coffee making. They were also introduced to various traditional Indonesian games and activities, including kite flying, marble games, batik making, and more.

“I’m happy I could join this Program Student Mobility. UMN has various valuable learning opportunities. UMN also emphasizes sustainability, which I find both interesting and important for students to learn. In addition to sustainability, UMN also highlights culture, so even though students come from different backgrounds, we are still able to collaborate as one”, says Llianee Cyl H. D. Balbon Southern Leyte State University, Filipina.
Llianee also added that she’s very happy she could learn new and different cultures. Llianee says in participating in this Student Mobility program she could explore new things and new perspectives. Llianee hopes that the UMN Student Mobility Program will be bigger in the future.
The third day, on Wednesday (16/07) the students participated in two different workshops. The first workshop was delivered by the Faculty of Art and Design UMN with the topic of Visual Branding and Personal Branding. The students are taught about the importance of personal branding and communicate it visually. The students also participate in the Faculty of Communication workshop, bringing out the Social Media and Mobile Marketing topics. This workshop emphasizes how digital communication could contribute to sustainability issues.

“I am very happy to join the UMN Student Mobility Program. For me, studying at UMN is truly enjoyable. The campus is not only modern but also very green and committed to sustainability. UMN also offers many programs, and I especially enjoyed the workshop with the Faculty of Communication, where I learned a lot from effective communication in the digital world to managing sustainable communication, and much more,” said Louis David Rances, a student from De La Salle University, Philippines, one of the participants in the UMN Student Mobility Program 2025.
David also expressed that he gained many new and creative insights that will certainly be useful in the future. From his experience, he hopes to implement all the knowledge he has acquired through this program. For David, the program has provided him with many important learnings.
The next day on Thursday (17/07) The students also visited Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). This visit was intended to give them a broader and more detailed understanding of Indonesia’s diverse cultures, including traditional houses, flora, fauna, and many other aspects.

On Friday (18/07), the final day of the UMN Student Mobility Program 2025, students took part in an Indonesian Cuisine session with the Faculty of Business, where they prepared traditional Indonesian dishes. On the same day, they also joined a panel session with the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics and UMN’s Sustainability Centre. In this session, students were involved in data calculation and gained deeper insights into how sustainability can begin with small steps.

The students also participated in the Farewell Party as the closing ceremony of the UMN Student Mobility Program 2025 During the event, they performed various cultural performances from their respective countries. The Farewell Party did not mark the end of the relationship between UMN and its partner universities, but rather the beginning of an even stronger collaboration.
“For me, the UMN Student Mobility Program 2025 is very interesting. Held over approximately three weeks, students gained a wide variety of knowledge. They learned from each faculty at UMN and took part in a series of activities ranging from workshops and visits to Bandung Village, to other programs that enriched their experiences,” said Prof. Dr. Avinash Pawar, a lecturer from D.Y. Patil, India.
Avinash also stated that the UMN Student Mobility Program helps students learn beyond their academic studies. He further noted that by joining the program, students can broaden their knowledge and expand their global networks.
