Tangerang – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) offers a variety of support services designed to foster a welcoming and encouraging environment for students, staff, and faculty from underrepresented groups. These offerings include mentoring, counselling, and peer support programmes that are accessible through the university’s inclusive facilities framework.
By integrating such services into campus life, UMN helps ensure that individuals facing social, economic, or demographic disadvantages receive guidance, emotional support, and community networks to succeed academically and professionally. See more about UMN’s inclusive facilities here.
Such initiatives are closely aligned with UMN’s broader commitment to inclusion, as outlined in its Inclusive Facilities Policy and Infrastructure. These support schemes not only provide personalized assistance but also build a culture of mutual care and equity, encouraging participants to share experiences, receive tailored advice, and engage in peer learning.
In doing so, UMN strengthens its role as an institution that values diversity, nurtures underrepresented voices, and provides the resources needed for every member to thrive.
Support for Students
UMN provides targeted support for students from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds, such as awardees of the ADiK Scholarship (Afirmasi Pendidikan Tinggi) program. These students receive not only financial assistance but also mentoring, academic guidance, and emotional support to help them adapt and succeed in their university journey.
Peer support groups and mentoring activities are conducted regularly to ensure that all students, regardless of background, feel welcomed, respected, and supported throughout their studies.
Support for Staff and Faculty
Supporting staff and faculty from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds is equally important in creating an inclusive and equitable workplace. UMN provides dedicated support and development programmes to ensure that all staff members have access to mentoring, counseling, and growth opportunities.
