Tangerang, (10/20/2025)—Universitas Multimedia Nusantara and Dennis Gabor University (DGU) discussed various opportunities for international collaboration. This collaboration will cover four faculties at UMN and multiple areas, including research, internships, international competitions, and other ongoing collaborations.
DGU is a university located in Budapest, Hungary, established in 1992. DGU shares the same vision as UMN, which is to provide quality education for students. Previously, UMN had formalized its collaboration with DGU, and on this occasion, UMN opened up opportunities for discussion with DGU in various fields.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to collaborate with DGU. For us, collaboration between universities is very important. In the future, the four faculties at UMN will be able to collaborate with DGU, and these discussions are the first step in initiating collaboration programs,” Dr. Andrey Andoko, UMN Rector, said.
Andrey hopes this collaboration will further introduce UMN to the international stage and expand UMN’s programs. Andrey himself is open to various collaborations that can be initiated by DGU in the future and supports all academic and non-academic collaborations.
“This is my first visit to UMN, and I am very impressed with the energy efficiency at UMN. Energy efficiency is not only about saving electricity but also a place for students to learn directly at UMN. For me, UMN and DGU have many similarities, from project-based learning to the belief that all humans are lifelong learners,” Dr. Ferenc Dietz, President of DGU, explained.
For Ferenc, UMN represents the kind of university that is truly needed. Ferenc is open to various collaborations with UMN, ranging from research, student exchanges, lecturer exchanges, international competitions, internships, and supporting UMN in the Erasmus program.
“I hope this collaboration will run well, provide a good educational experience for students, and can be implemented immediately. We strongly support the various programs initiated by UMN,” Ferenc added.
This activity was followed by a discussion on collaboration initiatives from each UMN vice rector. There were various academic and non-academic collaboration initiatives, and this discussion was also opened by Prof. Dr. Friska Natalia, S.Kom., M.T., as Vice Rector for Academic and Internationalization Affairs.
“There are many collaborations that can be initiated with DGU. UMN itself has initiated various programs, including student exchanges, lecturer exchanges, mobility programs, and we have also initiated an internship program where UMN students can do internships in Budapest and vice versa,” Friska explained.
Friska also emphasized that the four faculties at UMN can be involved and, in this case, adjust the learning curriculum at DGU to align with it. Friska hopes this collaboration can open up various study opportunities for the academic community at UMN. Of course, this collaboration will continue to focus on existing developments, namely, sustainability and artificial intelligence (AI), and collaboration related to competition and research will align with UMN’s main topics.
“Every year, UMN holds international competitions that are participated in by various countries and UMN partner universities. The current focus of UMN competitions is related to AI, sustainability, and technology. Of course, the scope of studies that can participate in these competitions is also broad and can involve various students later on,” Dr. Ika Yanuarti, S.E., M.S.F, CSA., Vice Rector for Student Affairs, said.
Ika is open to collaboration with DGU regarding international competitions. Of course, these competitions can strengthen the relationship between UMN and DGU. In addition, this activity is expected to provide UMN and DGU students with a good learning experience.
“UMN is also open to collaboration in the field of research, as there are quite several research topics that can be undertaken together. The four faculties at UMN have quite several sub-topics ranging from AI for Health Care, AI for social studies, sustainable energy, sustainable tourism, and various other topics. This is a good opportunity for UMN and DGU to conduct research between the two countries, and of course, we are also open to other research topics,” Prof. Dr. Florentina Kurniasari T., S.Sos., M.B.A., Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Sustainability, said.
Sari also opened opportunities for joint research and publications between universities. In the future, UMN can nominate students or lecturers who are experts in their respective fields and publish research from both universities.
