Applying Sustainable Building Practices to Minimize Water Use at UMN
December 5, 2024Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) recently conducted a data-based training program for environmental NGOs in Bandung, aiming to enhance data management and advocacy skills. Held on November 5-6, 2024, at UPI Bandung Campus, the program was attended by 25 participants and involved collaboration with UPI lecturers. The training covered topics such as data management, strategic campaign communication, data-driven advocacy, effective data publication techniques, and crisis communication. The initiative aligns with SDG 17 by strengthening partnerships and empowering NGOs to utilize data for informed policy development and public engagement.
On 7 September 2024, Universitas Multimedia Nusantara supported an integrated advocacy campaign organized by AIMI (the Indonesian Breastfeeding Mothers Association) at the Menara Kompas, Palmerah. The program, led by UMN faculty Selvi Amalia, Helga Liliani Cakra Dewi, and Edo Tirtadarma, aimed to raise public awareness of the International Code for marketing breastmilk substitutes and strengthen community support systems needed for successful breastfeeding. By providing coordinated training, communication tools, and advocacy guidance, this initiative helps bridge gaps between civil society, health organizations, and policymakers, demonstrating how universities can play a strategic role in empowering NGOs and informing public policy in line with SDG 17.
