Studying and engaging in the world of architectural education has become Irma Desiyana’s hope since studying at the University of Indonesia (UI) Bachelor of Architecture. Inspiration as an educator and researcher in the field of architecture was formed during his role as a lecturer assistant and research assistant for 3 years at UI. He was also active in community social activities from 2007 to 2011 as a barefoot architect.
He continued his master’s degree in Architecture and Urban Design at Chongqing University, China through the China-AUN Scholarship in 2011 – 2013. After returning from school, he became a lecturer at Pembangunan Jaya University. He is also active in one of the RPTRA (Child Friendly Open Public Space) pilot projects in Kembangan Selatan Jakarta, starting from the survey process, communicating the needs and aspirations of the residents to the community-based development process.
In 2016, he joined Multimedia Nusantara University to help prepare and develop the Architecture Study Program that was just born that year. Motivation and dreams of contributing to the world of architectural education started from teaching, mentoring student programs and research at UMN. Before becoming Chair of the Architecture Study Program in 2021, he has served as Secretary of the Study Program for 4 years.
