Aditya Heru Wardhana, STP, MA, is a lecturer at Universitas Multimedia Nusantara with more than two decades of experience in journalism, communication, and higher education. He has worked in leading media organizations such as Transtv, tvOne, and CNN Indonesia. At UMN, he teaches Environmental Journalism, Digital Videography, and Television Program Production, while actively supervising student research on media and sustainability issues. Under his guidance, students have won international competitions, including the Short-Doc Megacities Documentary Contest.
His expertise covers environmental journalism, climate communication, and curriculum development focused on sustainable development issues. Beyond teaching, Aditya is active as a communication consultant and media trainer. He previously served as Executive Director of the Society of Indonesian Environmental Journalists (SIEJ), the largest environmental journalism organization in Southeast Asia, where he coordinated training programs, fellowships, and public forums on climate change, renewable energy, and biodiversity conservation.
Aditya has also worked as a consultant for the Low Carbon Development Initiative (LCDI) and participated in communication projects with UNESCO, UNDP, Internews, and GIZ. His academic and journalistic works have gained international recognition, including support from the Pulitzer Center for developing environmental journalism curricula at eight Indonesian universities. He has also received several awards, such as the Mochtar Lubis Award (2011), Pertamina Pers Award (2007), and National Geographic Indonesia Writing Competition (2016). In addition, several of his documentary films have been screened at international festivals.
