Tangerang, (28/10/2026) – Universitas Multimedia Nusantara (UMN) is expanding its internationalization initiatives through a collaboration with Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE). This collaboration is expected to create opportunities for student exchange, research, and accelerated degree programs.
Eötvös Loránd University (ELTE) is a higher education institution in Hungary, established in 1653. Over the past century, ELTE has been home to many world-renowned scientists, including four Nobel laureates among its faculty members and alumni. This potential collaboration presents a valuable opportunity for UMN to expand its international academic network and further enhance the quality of its education and research.
“There are quite a number of opportunities for collaboration with UMN, particularly with the support of the European Union. One example is student exchange through the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility program, which allows UMN students to participate in international exchange programs,” explained Dr. Jesús Reyes Nunez, Associate Professor at ELTE.
Beyond student exchange, Reyes also expressed his openness to research collaboration, particularly in informatics, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. He emphasized that these fields are currently gaining considerable interest and are being actively developed in Europe.
“In my view, collaboration between UMN and ELTE offers a wide range of opportunities for both students and faculty members. This collaboration is not limited to UMN and ELTE alone, but could also involve industry,” he added.
During the collaboration discussion, Dr.Eng. Ir. Niki Prastomo, S.T., M.Sc., Dean of UMN’s Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, also highlighted various opportunities for international collaboration that could benefit both universities.
“Research collaboration offers promising opportunities, as there are many topics that we can align and develop together, ranging from sustainable AI and cybersecurity to big data, blockchain, and various other exciting fields,” said Niki.
Niki also highlighted the potential for an international acceleration program between UMN and ELTE, through which UMN students could have the opportunity to continue their studies at the master’s level at ELTE. The acceleration program could also be extended to other faculties at UMN.
